Which Meercat?

I lost my gray Calypso Jr. mowing grass. I hope that I find it later but plan on carrying a Meercat in the meantime. I have both the recurve blade model and a drop point model (got it new from ebay for $18). Just wondering who likes which and why.

I like the reverse S. You have just that little more edge length and the point is great for fine work.

God bless,

Simon.

My wife and I prefer the reverse S Meerkats, also.

I like the drop point myself simply because it is easier to sharpen on flat benchstones.

I like the reversed S more. But what I'd really like to a Meerkat would be a Bowie style blade. :)

i like the reverse-s. it's like having a mini-claw, or a mini-hawkbill, in a knife that still has some belly.

my reverse-s meerkat is one of my most requently carried knives -- its just the right size to hide in the change pocket of my jeans...

Lazy old man that I am, I'd vote for the easy to sharpen drop point.

A word to an MIA...

Welcome back Jerry!

I tend towards the recurve or reverse "S" as it harkens to the Cricket's
blade shape. Drop point is also a good choice.

Actually, they're both excellent cutters.

I hope you find that grey Calypso jr.

AET :D

Sorry for your loss of grey Calypso jr. - that's on of my next :spyder: 's to get.
Like Meerkat a lot - have only Reverse S model for now, and disappointed it is discontinued.
Can Sal & Co revive Meerket's Phantom-lock, unique grip handle and nice clip design in some other, perhaps even bit bigger model?
