Customised Pride pics

I've just finished customising my Pride, purely for cosmetic reasons, as although it's one of only a couple of Spydies legal to carry in England (I've also got a UK Pen Knife), I just didn't like it's style.
The blade has been re-shaped, with a nicely polished back.
The badge has gone, and it's hole and the engraved pattern (both of which I thought were a bit tacky) have been ground out, and both handle scales bright polished.
The finger grip part of the handle has been rounded off, and the end of the handle which was concave and pointed is now flat & rounded.
It just needs a final polish and a new clip (but I might leave it without one), but I'm pretty pleased with the result, it looks a bit more special than standard, and that polished aluminium is soooo tactile.
And it's legal.
Maybe Spyderco could do a stainless model like this one :D
Before & after pics (if it works, I haven't tried posting pics before):

Yes, it is nicely done. I like your new blade shape a lot.

Thanks Senate.
I re-used the standard screws & barrel nuts.
I was originally thinking of making up some G10 or stainless scales, but when I took it apart, I saw that the locating holes for the barrel nuts (including the blade pivot) were D shaped to stop them turning, so I stuck with the original scales.

Hello Redline,

beautiful modification!
How does the pollished alluminium "behave" dont you got "black" fingers?

Hi Doc,
I'm pleased with the blade shape, it gives a more balanced look, and you can rest your finger on the top edge for detailed cutting.
224477, the polished handle has been fine, I've only been using it for a couple of days so far, but no black fingers! I don't think I'll get any corrosion problems (I hope ;) ) from removing the anodising as it is highly polished, it won't be getting any hard work, and the coating is still in place on the inside surfaces.
If only Spyderco could make a limited edition stainless version, there would definitely be no problem :D

That is a nice job, I like the blade profile much better than the original, although I did kind of like the gold/black bug inlay the handles look nice too.

Hey Tom,
How about putting in an order with Spyderco for a limited run? :D

Just ordered a Darrel Ralph foldover pocket clip for the Pride, this will sit it a LOT lower in my pocket than the original (I didn't like the style anyway!), I need it to be discreet.
Should be a nice finishing touch :)
