How many BMs

#1

Post by J Smith »

do you own.
In general I do not like most of their models but I do really like the griptillans.
I just got a OD D2 mini grip and a 550RT PE stonewashed.
I wish I could find out how many of the 550RT PE stone washed grips they made.It seems to be a very rare BM or at least very hard to find.
Now to find one more that I like but is getting hard to come by,the 730 PE satin.

One, a BM42, and I blame that one on Sal for keeping the Spyderfly under wraps as long as he did. :p :D

Aloha JSmith,

I had a few: Tsunami PE, Stryker PE, Monarch series "unidentified" FRN PE, a Balisong, Fecas Gamer FB, and a 555 CE. The only ones I have left are the Gamer CE and 555 CE. I like that lil' bugger...

God bless and good score!!!

690 CF, Mini-Stryker PE, Mini AFCK PE, CQC7 PS, Leopard Cub PS, Monarch PS and a 100 R&R.

But if they were that good, I wouldn't be looking to turn these into Spydies!! :p

God bless

I have a Mini Ambush and Mini-Pika. Mini Pika has a great deep carry clip, but it's a little on the small side for me. I have a BM550 Griptillian on order. And of course, in all fairness to this board, an Endura should be hitting my door any day now :D My Delica and Native III were getting lonely (yeah, that's it :) ) I will probably get the BM Monochrome, but will probably get either a Para Military or Manix before that.

I possess only one Benchmade Knife, a BM42 Ti obtained via trade from a friend. It's only real strong point in my eyes is the spring latch; otherwise it is basically another bali-song. I personally feel that the Cold Steel Arc Angel is a superior butterfly knife.

The Spyderfly is a bit heavy, but I like heavy... :D

750 Pinnacle>traded
940 Osbourne>gift to my Bro
875 Sentinel>the best BM ever made...in pieces for a refurbish and cleaning
Nimravus>sold to a military friend
Wolf Cub(I think???)>traded up for the Sentinel
CQC-7>rusted for some unknown reason and I returned it...wish I still had it knowing what I know now about blades...I was young and foolish.
Auto Stryker with Ares blade>illegal in Canuckia and did not ever use it...traded for a Chinook II :D

After all that only one left, the Sentinel. A couple more long screws from BM warranty and repair and I will put it back together.

In Benchmade, I suppose I'm proudest of my Crawford Leopards. After a number of years, I've managed to collect what I believe to be all of the colors. Silver, grey, black, green, blue, red and purple. I'm told there were only 200 purple ones made up, so it's likely the rarest. I'm sure you've seen the Leopards around on Ebay and other places, but they are a classic Crawford design with drilled aluminum scales and Hitachi ATS-34 bladesteel. Not the most expensive knife (thankfully), but unique.

I've also spent some time trying to collect the Leopard Cubs, but only got as far as the red, silver and black .. I let them go during one of my last sales ... Just too hard to come by to make a collection.
