Guys, I need your advice.
I bought Benchmade Ritter RSK Mk1 , the top one of these three :p ictures found on google search.
Now I need a big all purpuse folder. I dont mind the size, I dont mind the price. What do you advicde? a milirary or a manix? or something else?
I heard people expressing concern anout the lock of the military (reports of lock failour) and that the tip might break because it is too pointy.
Which of these would you buy if you were only allowed one knife and left in the jungle after a nucliar explosion at the end of the world? :)
This is an easy one...

....the Manix!!!
The Military, however, is not a pushover either. With the liner nested in the G10, strength is added while keeping the weight/thickness at a minimum. The Military linerlock is in the heavy duty range, while the lockback on the Manix ranks right up there with the Chinook.
IMO, the Manix is the TOUGHEST Spydie out there.

Welcome to the forum :D
We'll let the bad language (Benchmade) slip this time :D
Never had any problems with my Military. Strong and TOUGH
BUT, I say go with the SPYDERNATOR (Manix) :D :D
Just look at that picture up there. How can you resist it

..... and the answer is "a MANIX". I'm certain there's already one somewhere near you with your name on it. Find it. Buy it. You will both live happily ever after. I'm a sucker for a story with a happy ending :D .

Funny that nobody ever thought of "Spyderco" as a nickname :)
First things first: Welcome!
The Military possibly has the best liner-lock on the market. You can certainly have faith in it. Those who had issues with it(cause even the best can't be perfect all the time!) sent their knife back to the factory and they made it right.
My vote would go either for the Manix or the new Chinook. Let us know what you decide.

When I saw the thread I thought it was from someone from the Spyderco Corporation.
Just my opinion....that name should probably be reserved for the company. :)
Welcome.

Just the toughest Spydie?
I'd go the Manix too - but I'd not be dissapointed if I was left with the Millie after the end of the world (you know the bit when only Scarlett Johanssen and I are left alive in a tropical paradise with only our lives, our wits and very little clothing to live by).
The Millie is lighter, easier to carry and less prone to gunking up than the Manix. The Manix stronger, arguably a more usefull blade shape, can actually chop in a pinch and is....well just sexier...

I'd warmly suggest the Manix too... if it weren't the Millie alternative. It is true that the Manix is stronger, but the Military is not weak either. In this case, I'd preffer a big and lightweight knife myself (aka Millie).

ming, I don't mean to suggest that the Military is a pushover(see post above), however in an end of the world scenario I would probably go with the Manix.
Even though I did suggest the Manix, I have a Military PE in my pocket that I never leave the house without. :D
