Has anyone ever used a dual edge bali? I was surfing around some knife sites and found one, and it just struck me that you could easily lose some fingers playing with these.

Aloha outofgum!

I have! I have! Well, I played with double and 1 and a half edged Bali's, not lost any fingers!!! LOL!

Yup, ya gotta know when to redirect the blade when you're "doing the dance" with this style of Bali. Kinda like the nunchaku...
I never really cared for a true double edge bali, but the 1 and a half was fun as you could still do finger twirls and stuff with it...

God bless! ;)

If both those edges are anything like the single one on my BM42, your fingers are pretty safe. That knife arrived from the factory sharp as a bowling ball.

i have a 46 and i am trying to get rid of it cause i need the money. But they are not double edged, but about fifteen minutes on my sharpmaker could fix that. However, the wide angle on the blades makes the possible sharpness much lower than that of a single edged knife.

Flipping a double edge is not for beginners, there's no safe handle!!! ;)

but if you can catch one of these for collection, BM 46 are quite rare.
