For my missing Delica. She's gone missing, been 3 weeks now. I lost her on a trip upstate. Somehow she slipped out of my pocket. She was a molded FRN clip model, with me 10 years. Updated with a metal clip by the kind folk at Spyderco after I thoughtlessly caught the clip on a door frame on the way through the door.

I've had to start carrying my Calypso Jr., but it's just not the same. Maybe if it was tip up. I do love that flat ground blade though. Maybe the Spydie docs will convert it tip up for me... ;)

Aloha!

My condolences... :( I feel for you. I agree with the Caly' Jr. being a tip upper!!! If it was, I think it's safe to say that it'd take up more pocket time than my other :spyder: 's!!! (Delica included!!!)

God bless!

Lost Spydies

I know how you feel. Since my first Delica, 1996, I've lost two. First one was an FRN clip like yours. Just when I thought I couldn't get any stupider I lost a VG-10 Endura on an visit to NJ. ****, that still pisses me off. The only think for it is to immedietly get one or two more.

Haven't lost any knife yet (cross my fingers!)
I'll probably feel terrible when it happens. Sorry to hear that. See this as an excuse to buy one more Spyderco....but I know...I get sentimental with my old stuff too.

You have no chance of finding it until you buy a new one.
Then it may magically appear!
It's worth a try, isn't it? :p

Grieving Spyders

#6

Post by JD Spydo »

I do indeed feel your pain my friend. About a month ago I lost a Spyderhawk. It was a serrated with a black FRN handle. I am still grieved over it. Even though I was lucky enough to find a dealer that had one to replace it with; Well you know the story. It just ain't the same as the one I had worked with so much. I took it on several hunting & fishing trips. Every time I go to that area I still try looking for it. I was dating a gal last summer. We really hit it off at first. I even gave her a numbered Dodo. She got really crazy/mean. I don't miss her but I do miss that numbered Dodo :(

There's an old superstition that if a lover gives you a knife as a present you will soon split up... however, if the recipient gives you a penny in return, then it's a sale and not a gift, and the tragedy is avoided. Old Wive's Tale... or is it?

Thanks for consoling me guys. Does my heart good to hear from my Forum brothers. I wonder if I should file a lawsuit for custody of my numbered Dodo :D

I had to wear suit pants yesterday. I put my Delica FRN clip inside my pocket. It just didn't feel like it was going to stay there long. Clip was not tight enough and the pants were too slick. So I had to go all day without my daily companion for fear of losing it. I did lose my wallet once. The van seat belt somehow pulled it out of my pants pocket and flipped it into the back seat area. Took a lot of looking and a whole lot of worrying but I finally found it. Not a pleasant feeling to lose something. Keep looking and it may turn up in an unusual place.

My condolences. Don't call off the search, I've had a knife gone missing that turned up several years after I had written it off for good.

Good luck!

JDSpydo...

Bro, that story about your #'d Dodo creeped ME out, and it takes quite a bit to do that due to my occupation! Yikes man...COULD'VE been worse. What if she had the :spyder: Hawk!?

Good to "see" ya buddy! Stay safe, maybe next time, a Ladybug! :D

God bless!

Oh no "Daywalker" I knew better than that. Anyway that Spyderhawk was much too important ( and dangerous) to be invovled in a domestic dispute.
Life is an adventurous game of "Live & Learn". It just seems that I have been doing way too much learning lately. :D
