It looks like you might have problems getting these sent to your country. All of the sites I have looked at so far will not ship to the U.S.A. :(

I'll sort one (some) out for you if you like! ;)

PM your details and I'll get it sorted (actual price + actual shipping) I don't want to make money from a Spydie brother.

Discount Glowrings

#9

Post by UK KEN »

Hello All

Just talked to John Jackson who tells me that there will be a small discount for a "group order". I am prepared to handle the shipping from the UK but I need to have an idea of how many might be needed before he will let me know what discount he is prepared to allow. :)

Cool

I'm good for three (blue/green/pink)

Does anyone know how 'safe' these are for kids? What happens when they start chewing on them? Or if it breaks?

I am in for 2 green.
Ted,it wouldn,t be a good Idea with the old ones because I may be possible for them to get the tritium viel out of the houseing but these new ones look to be completly sealed.Just take a good look at it and make sure there is no way the viel will come out.

BTW it might be a good idea to start a new thread about the group buy so everyone can see what it is about in the title.

There are the Traser Glow rings, but the principal is the same.

Glowrings banned in the U.S.A

#14

Post by UK KEN »

People!

Before we go any further......I have just been talking to a supplier of these items who has explained that the reason no one ships them to the States is because they are banned!

There are apparently serious consiquences for anyone trying to ship them "over the pond". I'm sorry to go back on my offer, but I would not like to break the law.

Ted!

Looks like it's just us two! I hav efound a trader on eBay who will sell them to me for £8.50 each. Not much of a saving I know, but every little helps!

Anyone know why these are banned in the US? How about Canada?

The NRC will not allow the use of tritium in a toy or novelty item and a keyring is concidered a novelty item.If it were a tool then they would be legel. All they would have to do is change the name to something like locator device and I would think that would make them legel.

So here's what I don't understand...

Why doesn't someone in the US make them?

I mean, I've got tritium in Night Sites and Luminox Watches. What is the deal?

Is it also related to the quantity? I'm thinking more in the keychain than in my H&K.

Watches and night sights are concidered tools.

Ah... OK, I misunderstood the previous post. For some reason I was thinking it was just the *importation* of toys / novelties that they had a problem with.
