Military or gunting?

#1

Post by Turbo923 »

Which do you perfer? Why? I'm looking at the gunting more because of the awsome compression lock, but am also interested in the military. Why would you perfer the one ver the other? I love the clip on the gunting...shows what you got on the inside of your pocket! hehe. Thanks for the advice.

Depends on what you intend to use it for??? The military to me is a more multi-task/utlity knife... Thats not to say the Gunting will not perform everyday chores too just as well. The gunting gives you a ton of less than lethal options in terms of self defense. Bram Frank designed the knife with that in mind. The compression lock is incredible too...

these 2 knives are so different from each other.
the gunting is too small foir my hands and I think the tomahawk ramp is really awkward.
the military is awesome it totally fills my hand the hole is so sweet to open and it is really light so it flows very well.

they are both knives so they can be used for all purposes. I don't think one is way better than the other for self defense or any other purpose. maybe the military can cut watermelons better cause it is bigger. the gunting has a lot of non-impact stuff.
I feel the military is the best spydies got by far.

Turbo,

Both are excellent knives.

If you want a versatile EDC, go with the Military.

If you want what I consider to be the best "real world" defensive folder available, go Gunting.

Either way you'll get top quality fit and finish.

It really depends on how you plan on using the knife, or if you like specific features of either. Even though the Gunting is primarily a defensive blade, several of the design features make it a great utility design as well. Why not try both before you decide to buy? Of course there is the common recommendation to get both.

I'd go with the Military for starters. It's easier to carry and generally more utilitarian, but with serious tactical capabilities.

However, don't rule out that Gunting. I am now seriously considering the entire package--Gunting, trainer and tapes.

Dick,

Don't forget the Kydex break-away belt or shoulder holsters made by Skunkworks. They are without a doubt the fastest way to deploy your Gunting.

One word of caution that goes out to all my Gunting customers...."If your going to carry both the Drone and the Live Gunting at the same time, be very careful and aware of which one you reach for".
