Aloha Mancer my South..er, "Utahian" brother! LOL!
Sorry, won't be any help here, but as far as the laws here, I can own and carry one ON my property...once I step off it however, I am breaking the law. Ugh.
I hope Utah is not as strict for ya!
God bless you and the family my friend!

Hi Mancer,
I always look at
www.packing.org for insight. Here is a link to Utah codes (as with many states, open to interpretation)

MaNcEr -
If you're ever in doubt about your State's, or a State your travelling
to law's go to
http://www.Google.com and enter the State & "public safety
code" into the Google engine & the first two or three hits will give you
a link to whatever State's public safety director and / or Dept.
Generally speaking, they
could be lumped in with nightstick, sap
or billie - I wouldn't worry too much though, just be disceet & understand
that you now have something called the 5th Amendment ( in other words
"the right to remain silent" against self incrimination ) as protection if you're
ever arrested. If you don't look like some readily identifiable bad guy you'll
have no problems AFAIC.
