Article on Gunting in latest Shotgun News

#1

Post by Tim »

I just read a great article on the Gunting, by Massad Ayoob, in the latest issue of Shotgun News. The Gunting was one of three knives that he liked for 2001. Massad even mentioned the instructional videotapes and seminars offered by Bram. The recent Tactical Knives article on the Gunting failed to do that. This is the best article on the "G" I have read to date. Way to go Bram. Wishing you continued success on this revolutionary knife design.

Sorry dude, I'm not really sure of the date on that issue of Shotgun News. For some reason "May '01" pops into my head at the moment. It was on the newstand at Borders when I read it yesterday. Does any of the Gunting Cult Members know exactly?

WOW!
"the Gunting is an HISTORIC knife design because of its dual function, and the special training available that is geared around this particular instrument.."

"Spyderco is to be commended for having the courage to 'boldly go where no knife maker has gone before'. The GUNTING's uniqueness of purpose as well as its uniqueness of design makes it one of the most fascinating knives of 2001"

"Bram gave me a quick once-over with a few of his techniques..ow ow OW!"

hmmm I guess that Mas liked the Gunting..I'm so honored that someone like him took such a liking to the GUNTING...

THANK YOU MAS!!!!!

Still waiting for this issue to hit the stands up here. The only one I can find is the April 23rd edition.

Just picked up the article. Good review. Just wait until he actually learns how to use all the features. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

For the record, the Tactical Knives article on the Gunting included a dedicated "sidebar" article on accessories - to include videos, trainers, kydex holsters, etc. It was killed in its entirety by the advertising folks at Harris because one of the companies listed in the article had allegedly not paid for its TK ads in quite some time.

thats a shame that Harris publications cut out the sidebar without checking further..
and deprived the readers of more writing from Mike and his opinions of the accessories etc available..Oh well
Tactical Knives mades a bad choice in my mind but hey. thats business...
Thanks to Mike for the Great article and to Mas..
both did a very clear concise article...
thanks guys!
