Sorry I missed the show, I was in Ventura that Saturday to purchase an Acura MDX. What a wonderful vehicle! Drove it home that evening to Santa Maria (100 miles North of Ventura) not even thinking about knives.

Yup, I was the only one dressed like that on Saturday. I went to handle a Camillus Aftermath, but it looked kinda gaudy in person - looked like it belonged in a Martial Arts foreign film. Maybe without the flames on the scales.... I talked to another CPF'er selling Spydercos and he showed me his # 24 D'Allara Rescue, WOW I was impressed! the palm swells and bi-directional texturing along with the full liners and smooth action put that knife at the top of my "next-to-get" list. I told him to hold one for me, but found an older SOG Government model, no coating on the blade, but with a leather sheath for $40.00 ! The blade is perfect, no scratches. Got that now, along with my full size Calypso that arrived that very afternoon from England. The D'Allara will be mine come payday!! If you have not handled one of these rescue knives, I encourge you to do so. Have not seen much feedback on the forum search.

You must have talked to Steven(#24) seemed like a nice enough guy. I was going to buy his ATR, that D'Allara, a Spydersaw, and a couple of others for close to $500.00. But he told me that in the collector's club you can/have to but the older stock of your number, which is excatly what I was hopeing for, as I was awaiting to hear back from Spyderco about the club. By the way they sell off any stock from any un-issued Collector #'s <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Yes, it was Steven. His D'Allara was very smooth, but I just wanted a plain jane new one to tweak.
I had handled his A.T.R. at the last show and commented on it via this forum. I tried to see if he wanted to trade it for my Chinook 1 and some cash, but he didn't have a need for the Chinook. I may just sell it on some forum and use the cash for that Starmate I've been lusting after, or the D'Allara or the Persian, or etc...,etc.......
Just too many nice knives on the list!

Maybee for the next Ventura show we could get a couple of Forumites to meet for the show and lunch afterward. Some people that "understand" our addictions? My "knifenut" friends have all moved away in search of more $$$.
