Cricket problem

I have a friend who carries heres on her Bra. It gets small brown rust like spots on it which scratch off with a thumbnail. She uses a Marine Tuff cloth as a barrier but still the spots appear.Under close inspection I could only find one crater that I could say may have been caused by the spots.
Has anybody else encountered this? Is there something else she could try?

Hi Cutler. a light oil, even vegetable oil would help. Flitz also would help. The human body is warm, any moisture on the blade is in an ideal environment to rust.
Maybe we can get some opinion from Joyce?

I would also recommend Renaissance Wax to protect the blade. I've had good luck with it when it comes to rust prevention. The other thing I might suggest is a River City Sheaths concealex sheath, made by Mike Sastre. Mike does excellent work and does a lot of neck sheaths for Spydercos. They put the blade in a quick access position. He may be able to add a clip to one of his neck sheaths so that your friend can still practice bra carry. :-)

Yeah to me a form of wax would be the way to go, oil would rub off on you and make you oily since she wears it clipped to her bra, a good ol wax to make a barrier would prollie be the solution.

Thanks for the help.Now to find some wax for her to try.My wife and her friends carry a Cricket in the same way.This is the only lady who's having trouble though.
I'll let you know how she goes.

I have the same problem. I also carry a cricket in my bra, and I get the same rust. But I started cleaning it with this stuff called White lightning, it seems to help.

Talcum powder on the body/bra.
Or, make little holster out of Tuf-Cloth.
Or, make bra out of Tuf-Cloth.
Or, try not carrying for a few days, and daily apply Tuf-Cloth vigorously.

I didn't think of white Lightning.It leaves a wax residue when it evaporates.
