Touring with your Spydies..

Folks, when you hit the road : How do you pack you beloved <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>? In a small/large zippered pouch? 16-pocket Spyderpac? 32-pocket Spyderpac? And which place on the planet is the furthest any of your <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> have travelled? My Millie and <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>-card has been to the US, Europe and all over Asia.. <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I just carry them in one of the zippered pockets in my luggage. Lately I only bring my Dodo. The furthest place? So far that would be Greece. One day I will make it to Asia.

I have never been on a plane. When I travel I just carry to one I am EDCing at the time.
I all ways thought it might be fun to take a Spyderco and contact several forumites around the world and send it off into the sunset.Let each forumite recieve it and sign the box with there name and location, and send it to the next forumite and so on until it returns from the sunrise.

I usually pack them in a small snap-pocket on my checked bag along with a leatherman micra. A lot of my Spydies came from Japan, but they have also been to the Netherlands, Germany, East and West coast USA, places in the midwest, Florida, the South. As for Asia: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Taiwan. I'm going back to Tokyo next Monday! Gotta decide which to take... <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Jeff,

another idea on that same would be to have each person add a pic of that knife in the location. Sort of like Simona or Samo keep doing.

I just toss them in my backpack.

A couple of mine travelled to Tokyo Japan and Seattle, WA

Rorschach, how long are you in Tokyo. Can't you make two trips to 'The Edge'? First to do an inventory, and post that on the forum, and then back to do a little shopping for us? <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Enjoy your trip and don't buy too many water-mellons!

I use Sack Ups from SMKW. They're made of silicon-impregnated cotton,so they're not only gentle on the knives, but protect from rust. They come in singles and various capacity rolls.

<img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Samo<img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>: If I see one I will surely get one for you! But I have never seen a G-10 worker at "The Edge". I thought the G-10 worker posted was a custom?

<img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Ted<img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> : I'm only there for 3 days this time, and I might have one morning to stop by Shibuya depending on my meetings. I will try and take an inventory if I have the time, at least I will take some more pics!

(homer voice) Mmmmm... hundred dollar watermelons!

I travel extensively by air. These days you really have to be careful not to draw attention to yourself with knives in your luggage. Serrated knives especially. I always pack mine in my shave kit with my ARC flashlight rather than loose in a bag, in case the bag is searched. Smaller knives draw less attention than the bigger ones. Possession of the military gets you special attention.
