Very nice !! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I have a Police "screaming eagle", and it's one of the very few knives I can't bear to carry.
Good find.

Ted,
Nice pictures. I see it has #020 on it. Do you know how many were made? Now I'm curious what Jur has <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Is the picture in you website?

Chris, don't know how many ... the one that Jur has is not on my site - it was one of the pictures I took of his collection that didn't work out.

Yog, I think the Police was called 'Eagle in Flight'.

Buferoe, bedankt!

Ted

Ted - you already mailed me this morning but to tell you again, your collection is very, very nice. We meet later this month and Gaby and I look forward to it.

Boxer - I have two Blanchard models. One Gary Blanchard Pro Grip - Lone Wolf and one GB C07 Police model - Eagle in Flight. All Blanchards were introduced 14 years ago and less than 500 were made per model. Gary Blanchard is an very well known and established knifemaking artist who lives and works in Las Vegas. Among his most famous work are the series of "Kachina" knives. These are stunning fixed blade art knives with engraved and sculptured Native American "Kachina" dancers in the handles. Make no mistake. Gary Blanchard is a wizzard in his field and does an excellent job in "deep engraving" or sculpturing. Is work is very sought after by investors.

Clipits work!

Ted,

Welcome to the Blanchard Club. Haven't seen many of these in a while. Glad you were able to locate one of these little beauties.

This looks like a good place for a first quick picture (finally got a digital camera) so here's my four. Sorry for the picture quality. Bad lighting; no experience with the C750; and had to resize it to fit since I have no site to host pictures yet. It ain't great but I can send you the 2288 X 1712 original if you would like.

j

Top is unserialed. Makes me wonder if they were indeed limited to 500 each. The bottom 3 are a matched set (Serial 002).

Very nice Java, you're way ahead of me.
Just send me the large one (Edit: I mean the picture of course...) and I'll host it for you no problem.

Java - Now that's what I call a collection ! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

BTW - Do your Blanchard-Police models have lanyard holes in them ?
Back along when I posted a pic of mine I was told it was unusual for Police models to have one.

Pure awe. I love Pro-Grips and this seems to be the one to beat them all...

Does anyone have pics of the Lone Wolf Pro-Grip to post? I see the lanyard hole by the way, don't suppose the Blanchards come with a clip-it do they?

<b>Ted</b>,

Just woke up and heading in to the Semiconductor mines for the night. I'll try and send the Blanchard pic in the AM. Once I get a day off, I'll start getting familar with the digital and see about sending some shots of the Spyderkeys and other oddities here.

<b>Yog</b>,

Don't ever recall seeing a Police GB with a lanyard hole. Hang on to that baby. The ProGrips look like all the GBs were "lanyardized".

<b>Shards</b>,

The upper ProGrip in my post above is the GB "Wolf" model. I'll see about doing a better shot or two on it after tomorow.

Gotta jet, Gents! Great collector's knives here! Good to see them in the hands of some most excellent Spyder-bros! Happy hunting

Shards, the Blanchard Pro-Grip's have the clip's with the kraton insert. Honestly, I think a normal clip would have suited it better. (natural materials).

Yog, a very small number of Police models have been made with a lanyard hole according to Sal at the Dutch Spyderco Show, but they stopped doing it because the maker (Seki?) complained it was just too difficult because there was barely enough space to do it.

Java, make sure you get good light, use the macro option to get close and choose the right white-balance. Good luck!

Here's a pic of Jur's Lone Wolf.

Sweet! The Lone Wolf is a real looker! With a clip-it, that just about makes it perfect. A pity about the Kraton clip though, most people prefer a simpler one.

Thanks Ted!

java, looking forward to that close-up!
