ROT : What song are you listening to?
Me : Ostrich by Steppenwolf ( from their debute album )
You're goin' when your six years old
And try to do the proper thing
To drill your brain for eighteen years
A promise of security
But then you're free...
And forty years you waste to chase the dollar sign
So you may die-In Florida
At the pleasant age of sixty-nine
The water's gettin' hard to drink
We've mangled up the countryside
The air'll choke you when you breathe
we're all committing suicide
But it's alright
It's promises full 'til your body rots
We'll strip the earth of all that's green
And divide and herd the populace
But-there's-nothing you & I can do
You & I we're only two
What's right and wrong it's hard to say
Forget about it for today
We'll stick our heads into the sand-
-And pretend that all is grand
And hope that everything turns out okay...
What about YOU?
AET
Let me win your hearts & minds, or I'll burn your **** huts down!

Now some men like the fishin' and some men like the fowlin'
And some men like ta hear, ta hear cannon ball a roarin'
Me I like sleepin' specially in my Molly's chamber
But here I am in prison, here I am with a ball and chain yeah
Musha ring dum a doo dum a da
Whack for my daddy-o
Whack for my daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar-o

Spirit of 2009 from Dada's El Subliminoso album. Same driving backbeat as the Stones 2000 Light Years from Home:
I'm a teenager
Born in nineteen hundred ninety-five
I'll see you later
Can't wait to meet you
If you're still alive
I hope you're ready
'Cause it ain't cute
Get your gun hand steady
Grab your Bible and shoot
It's the spirit of 2009
We're still waiting for the water
To change into wine
There's nothing left 'cause it's all right
We're gonna burn some books tonight
It's the spirit of 2009
Incredibly under-rated group. Most people only know of their single Dizz-Knee-Land

Allen,
Buddy...This is just TOO weird!! I'm listening to the SAME CD!: "Steppenwolf". (And I was listening to it before I checked in here...). The song that's playing right NOW is "The Pusher". My favorite on this classic CD is "Hoochie Coochie Man", followed by their big hit "Born To Be Wild".

You're free to speak your mind my friend -
As long as you agree with me -
Don't criticize The Fatherland...and all that shape your destiny -
...'cause if you do...
You'll lose your life, your mind & all the friends you knew -
We'll send out all our boys in blue -
They'll find a way to silence you -
But -there's -
Nothing you & I can do -
You & I we're only two -
What's wrong and right it's hard to say -
Forget about it for today -
We'll stick our heads into the sand -
And pretend that all is grand -
And hope everything turns out okay...

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Cars & girls are easy to come by in this day & age -
Laughing, joking, drinking, smoking -
'Til I've spent my wage-
When I was young, people spoke of im-mor-al-ity-
All the things they said were wrong-
Are things I want to be
(Hey!)
Over, under, sideways, down-
(Hey!)
Backwards, forwards, square & 'round-
(Hey!)
Over, under, sideways, down-
(Hey!)
Backwards, forwards, square & 'round-
When will it end?
When will it end?
Over, under, sideways, down

U2: 'The Hands That Build America'
Oh my love
It's a long way we've come
From the freckled hills to the steel and glass canyons
From the stony fields, to hanging steel from the sky
From digging in our pockets, for a reason not to say goodbye
These are the hands that built America
Russian, Sioux, Dutch, Hindu
Polish, Irish, German, Italian
I last saw your face in a watercolour sky
As sea birds argued a long goodbye
I took your kiss on the spray of the new line star
You gotta live with your dreams
Don't make them so hard
And these are the hands that built America
These are the hands that built America
The Irish, the Blacks, the Chinese, the Jews
Korean, Hispanic, Muslim, Indian
Of all of the promises
Is this one we can keep?
Of all of the dreams
Is this one still out of reach?
Its early fall
There's a cloud on the New York skyline
Innocence dragged across a yellow line
These are the hands that built America
These are the hands that built America

A-listen people what I'm tellin' you -
A-keep away from a-run-around-Sue!
Well baby, yeah, hey!
Baby, baby, baby, baby! hey!
Run-around-Sue

Well, Ken, you could aways put the speaker
close to the ear ( like when you record to
the CDs )
Was just listening to Time/Life music's
"Living the blues" ( on cassette ) -
My favorite - Dust my broom - by Elmore James -
I gettin' up soon in the mornin'-
I believe I'll dust my broom -
I gettin' up soon in the mornin'-
I believe I'll dust my broom -
I put on lovin' now -
And my friends can have my room -
I'm gonna write a letter/ telephone everyone I know -
I'm gonna write a letter/ telephone everyone I know -
