I heard they should be available at the good sites mid-end of the week.

I just recieved an email from Mary Beth at NGKs regarding the Para Milie price. This is the email-
Not sure when it will available. Price should be $99.94 as long as Spyderco doesn't change the price after they ship. I will keep your email and let you know as soon as we do get them in.

Regards, Mary Beth @ New Graham

Wow, that's great news!!! I've been waiting forever for this knife. The pictures still seem to have that "Paramilitary" embossed on the blade. Spyderco didn't go with that on the final run did they? That would be a huge disappointment.

Last I saw it was just a spydie bug engraved beside the hole.

So I'd been informed, but why then do the pics in the Spyderco store show the original planned knife?

Confusing...

I think the answer is that Spyderco's website does not have the same meticulous attention to detail that their knife-making/designing does. The substandard pics of all knives are just one of the symptoms. If they took a low-res picture of a prototype, that's all they seem inclined to use.

Others may be because it is either not a high priority with them, they are exceeedingly busy, or because they don't want to undercut their vendors -- I mean, you have the long-awaited Paramilitary being released, but there's a Salsa on the front page? An efficiently-run website would have at least a banner somewhere on the front page alerting people to the debut of the Para, at least to tell the ELU's to contact their local vendors for one.

Greetings.

ParaMilitary Models are starting to arrive and shipping now. The first 200 pieces (as most of you know) go to the Collector Program and then we start-filling orders to dealers based on who placed them first- FIFO. Getting them out the door, into the store and into an ELUs hand takes a several weeks.

As for the website...thank you for your input. The answer is in many ways is 'yes' to your observations. We're very conscious of its many, many short-comings and thank you for being patient. A solution is at hand and we're VERY close to fixing the problems. Hang in there.

"I mean, you have the long-awaited Paramilitary being released, but there's a Salsa on the front page?"

This is partly due to the fact that although ParaMilitary Models are shipping, we can in no way fill every outstanding order in the next 30 days. By highlighting the model on the webpage we'd create greater interest and orders that we cannot fill which in turn creates frustration and angry customers. The plan is to have an updated "New Products" area soon. When we've reached complete delivery you'll certainly be seeing the Para on the front page.

A great weekend to all of you!

Thanks Joyce! You're right: I forgot to put "limited supply" as one of the reasons.

Can't wait for the site improvements! I think you should ad Ted's blade "comparator" as a feature, it's quite helpful.

The ParaMilitary blade only has a bug on the blade. The pic on line is an older one that was used for the original catalog.

We're not promoting it very heavily at this time because the backorder situation is going to exist for at least another month.

Demand is greater than production at this time. My guess that it will be 2 months before they are caught up with the back orders.

Thanks for the updates. It'll be interesting where in the supply chain my preorder is Sal just curious, is having a 2 month backorder a good indicator of demand? Not sure if any previous model showed this symptom.

I just picked on up from the SFO. Every six weeks or so I come out here from Chicago and it was really nice to see these in stock. I will try to post a review later on tonight.

Quickly though, I really like the logo engraving; it is very tasteful. As expected the knife is scary sharp. It rides very well in my right front pocket and is really light.
