KOT : Emerson hard wear "traveller"

Failing the Cold Steel Black Talon ( yeah, 2003 SHOT show, it's a "go" ) I'll probably opt instead for the Emerson "traveler" hard wear CE ( what's Emerson, a wiseguy? knives are usually found in the "hardware" section of dept. stores and hardware stores! Just a play on words I guess ) With it's 3" blade and modest price tag from 1SKS.com ( $44.95 )

It's definetely worth a shot.

What say the augurers?

I foresee that you'll have fun with your Emerson Traveler. It will provide you with the cutting goodness of AUS-8A in an Emerson design. In time, as long as no one bashes Cold Steel out of hand, you'll forget about the Black Talon. Well, that's not gonna happen, so search high and low for that puppy!

I received an Endevour for Christmas and I feel it is on par with Spyderco quality. They are made by the same factory, no? So far it is holding up well. I like the serrations and I use it as a "beater".

I've passed my eye on the Emerson Hardwears and they just aren't my cup of tea. I really woulnd't mind getting a drop point CQC-7, however.

I've only seen a few of the Emerson Hardwears at a gun show- I didn't think they were quite up to snuff quality-wise- But that may have been an early run. Also, I was under the impression that their was to have been a "U.S. Border Patrol" version in O.D. green. Anybody seen one of those?

I've fiddled around with the Emerson "hard-wear" knives.. The value for money factor is there.. But the lock-up is kinda flimsy.. Overall, it'll be a good knife to give away on an edge-u-cation tour..
