KOT: Frost Cutlery?

#1

Post by The Saint »

Does anyone know much about the company? I've seen some of their designs on E-Bay (some that are rather similar to Spyderco's knives), and they are somewhat intriguing. I fully imagine that the relatively low cost is an indication of the quality of the knives, but I'd like to be *sure*. Good or bad, I'd like to hear/read about your experience(s) with the brand. Thanks in advance. :D

They are absolute crap in terms of quality. Some of their fantasy knives look neat, but they are just for hanging on the wall. If you are buying them only to look at, they should be ok.

The really sad part is that back when they were Parker-Frost they were very good quality and made in Japan.I had a very large collection of them when I was about 10 yrs old,you could get them a flea markets then for 5 to 10.00 each.

yeah, i've handled a few that my friends have owned and have found them to be garbage....that's why i stick to spydies and other high end knives. saint, you are absolutely right, you get what you pay for. you drop 5 bucks in k-mart, you get a crap knife. but if you invest in a quality knife, now that's worth the money

hahaha Frost Cutlery....

Every Friday at 10 PM on America's Store (sister channel of HSN) they have "Collectible Knives" show, selling ONLY Frost Cutlery.

For about $200, you can get about 130 knives or so.

Aloha! jsmith is absolutely correct regarding the Japan made Frost's...I still own a few and they're great knives in terms of edge holding and comfort, but the tolerances are lacking.

the now a days frost's...well, they suck.

God will put you over...if you let Him! Mark 11:23!
