A few firsts here - first wood inlay, first glass blast, first large insingo. Most expensive knife to date too. I'll not repeat that soon...

So far I'm really liking how CRK's Magnacut performs (on a large micarta inlay). I feel Spyderco missed the boat on the Magnacut drops.
Beautiful…you guys are killin’ me 🤔

It is admittedly one of only 2 of my knives that sees very little actual use. But that's why I grabbed that Insingo/Micarta/Magnacut version. This one felt like such a little tank, but too nice for the warehouse use.

I don’t blame you one bit for keeping it pristine…I want that exact version of the Sebenza, I just can’t decide to go large or small 🤔
That’s because the real answer is both. I say pick whichever you think you would like first, but eventually you will try both.

I got a good deal on a plain S35vn large inkosi insingo so that’s on the way :shush

Congrats on the good deal, I’ve not handled the large Inkosi but the small was too small…I’m thinking Small Sebenza Insingo first because it actually fits perfectly and I’d probably edc it more, then large, then Umnumzaan…but the Backpacker in Magnacut might disrupt that order when it becomes available…🤔

I just knew the new BM would come your way . How do you like it so far ? What do you think of the lock ? Dan

I love this knife. I feel like I've been waiting for something like this for 20 years... It's barely left my pocket this summer. Here's my initial impressions:

The lock is great. It's really similar in use to the axis lock, but easier to use with one finger.

I really like super thin knives, and this thing is next level, maybe a league of it's own.
So do I, so thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I've never tried next level thin, so I don't know if the concept can be taken too far, but this knife sure caught my attention when BM revealed it.

From the sideline it comes across as having the benefit of the stainless lock backs, but even thinner, and without the weight of SS.
There is this curve of diminishing returns though, and this one plots in very far out on that curve, probably beyond my somewhat floating cutoff point. At least I'm not rushing to get one, and haven't even dared to check up on European pricing and availability yet.

I'll do some fence sitting for now, and see what happens in way of versions, competition, sales etc. and how that affects pricing in the longer term.

Small sheepsfoot with Magnacut and micarta sounded good this morning.

Unfortunately my role change at work happened a few weeks after getting this knife, so I didn't get a ton of the typical use I was getting. I did reprofile it, and Magnacut was extremely easy to work with and get a great edge.
