I lot of folks seem convinced it will be a Native. I actually hope it is anything but a Native. Sorry, that model just does nothing for me. It just doesn't feel right to me. My thumb doesn't fall right into the hole like on most other Spydercos. I't the one mainstream model that I have no interest in.

I agree with you, I am not much of a fan of FRN on top of that, I have had a couple Natives and got rid of them, I think I still have 1 around. Not to mention there has already been 2 native forum knives already, It should be something new and exciting, that is what I am still hoping for.

I got to thinking about something today. Interesting to say the least.

-

I bet it's a Calypso Jr. Since the knife was discontinued I'm betting they have the molds and stuff back at the Golden facility. That said, I bet they could make a small number of them without too much difficulty. Since they can pin knives in Golden like they do for the Native I, they can pin the Calypso Jr.

I'm betting it's a Purple FRN handled Calypso Jr, with a CPM-S30V blade, or a 154CM blade.

How cool would that crap be? Silver clip with the black bug on it.

Also, even though I am tired of waiting.....I still want one and I think it will be a really good one. :)

One question. Why does USN have their forum knife, while we still don't know what ours is?
Seems backwards to me.

You could be right about that. Maybe Kristi just couldn't wait to tell us and pulled the trigger a little early. We all know she does her best for this forum and that's what really matters. :) :spyder:

My Dear Friends,

Not really. ;) The Spyderco Subforum on the USN is relatively new, and they have consequently never had a Spyderco Forum Knife prior to now (whereas this Forum has enjoyed several).

Patience my friends -it's all good. Given the incredible amount of work and planning that goes into a Forum Knife, ANY Forum Knife, I'm just glad they're coming at all!

I seem to recall Kristi saying that she told us earlier than planned because there was talk of us trying to put together our own unofficial forum kind of knife and she wanted to save us the time and effort of doing that. So it seems it was our own fault that the official forum knife got announced so early and now we have to suffer the waiting consequence!

USN forum knife has been announced and thats it, theres not even a picture of it yet. TK said when she has a final product in hand she will post a picture of it. We are in a similar boat over there we just know what it is, there is still the waiting game.

I think everyone needs to take it easy, Spyderco isnt in the business of making a product and withholding from the end user to play mind games. I am sure TK has a good reason for keeping it from us this long and when everything is finalized we will know.
