The pocket clip, clip screws, and assembly screws are all black. The liners and stand-offs are uncoated.
Stay safe,

Emerson does that on all of his knives too, Black G-10, Black Blade, ....shiny steel locks and liners. :confused:Evil D wrote:Yeah I never got that myself. It was like that for years with the DLC Military. If you're gonna go black go all black. I may see about Cerakoting the liners on mine. At least they're nested so they won't show as much.
I'm sure the added layer of coating has an effect on tolerances but Spyderco do have fully blacked out knives.ZrowsN1s wrote:Emerson does that on all of his knives too, Black G-10, Black Blade, ....shiny steel locks and liners. :confused:Evil D wrote:Yeah I never got that myself. *Now that I think about it, I remember someone saying that DLC liners make it harder to have a nice fit and finish somehow.
I can't recall the exact thread, but someone was saying something to effect of (paraphrasing) "The fit and finish on the new all Black karahawk is not as nice as the fit and finish on the regular karahawk". And the explanation given was the DLC liners make it impossible to sand things down after the knife is assembled, so it doesn't fit together quite as seamlessly as the regular karahawk does. I could see that influencing the decision to leave the liners shiny.Evil D wrote:I'm sure the added layer of coating has an effect on tolerances but Spyderco do have fully blacked out knives.ZrowsN1s wrote:Emerson does that on all of his knives too, Black G-10, Black Blade, ....shiny steel locks and liners. :confused:Evil D wrote:Yeah I never got that myself. Yeah that makes sense, you couldn't do a back lock in DLC and get it as seamless as you could if you did that extra step after assembly. I guess it depends on the model because I don't recall any issues on my Manix 2 and it was all blacked out.ZrowsN1s wrote:I can't recall the exact thread, but someone was saying something to effect of (paraphrasing) "The fit and finish on the new all Black karahawk is not as nice as the fit and finish on the regular karahawk". Well, I'm pretty slow meself. As in Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Though I have been called half-fast from time to time.ZrowsN1s wrote:Lulz you beat me by one second.nicked.onaut wrote:Expected release date August 9.

I think only through distributors of JB Outman. Just Google JB Outman Yojimbo 2.ohcyclist wrote:Given this was sponsored by a distributor will we see this for sale at all the usual on line knife stores?
