Who has the Southfork for pre-order? Do tell.

OUCH, is that MSRP? a Sage 4 in S30V for as much as a CF S90V para 2 was a year ago?

Titanium is not cheap, good quality wood is not cheap, and the mechanism is more complex.

Thanks for the response Paul. Being new to this I didn't realize that the lock on the S4 was any different than the delica/endura line. But now I see that it is. How much more complex or stronger? is the mid back-lock on the S4 to a compression lock? I don't think I have every owned a folder with a mid back-lock so I have no way to compare.

From what Sal said, mechanically the lock is the same as the one used on the new Native V. I know someone posted photos of the Native V disassembled, but darned if I can find them. FWIW, I never claimed it to be stronger than the ParaMilitary's compression lock, only more complex to manufacture. I don't know the relative strengths, do know that I'd trust my Native V to do anything I'd ever consider doing with a 3" bladed folding knife. It's built like a tank.

I'm already sold on the N5. I love mine also. I don't have any complaints about the lock. Was just wondering.

Arizona Ironwood and Ti. Not too surprised by the price.. but would have been perfect in the $150s.

Based on the MSRP and CS's normal discount, they should have it for a hair under $170. Not that far off from your target really.

The PDf isn't working for me. It has no pictures and the background graphics are messed up. Interactive viewer is though, and it looks very slick. Nice work on the catalog, and some of these new knives look exceptional. Already see a few must haves.

I use STDUviewer for PDF files. Does it work fine for you with Adobe Reader?

I just downloaded the catalog at home vs. my work computer the other day. 45 seconds vs. just over 40 minutes. I'd say we all had the servers swamped the other day. 60 times faster is pretty significant.
42 Spyderco fixed blades and counting...

The pictures in the PDF are compiled as JPG2000 files (not compatible with some pdf readers & apple products). PM me your email, I'll send you a modified copy.

And yes, it works perfectly fine with Adobe Reader.

Nice catalog. Like some other posters, I miss the blade thickness, however.
I wonder what the blade thickness on the Manix 2 XL is going to be. Download took a while due to swamped servers, I suppose. Ordered a printed catalog. Love the info at the end, very instructive.
