I have a Manix2 and a Gayle Bradley. I'm going to include a Michael Walker also as far as strong knives even though it is small. After giving it some thought it dawned on me that during most of my working years using tools, knives, etc. I never had a knife as durable as any Spyderco knives I've owned. So, my Delica4, Native, Stretch, Byrd Wings, etc. would all have served the roll as my "true workhorse" for my entire life. So, from my experience any Spyderco knife could have been a workhorse. I have never done lumberjack type work but have put my tools through the ringer thoroughly.

I have owned a lot of spyderco's thru the years, and some other brands. I had to sell all my knives when I got injured, and am just starting to aquire some of them back. I had given up on all other brands with the exception of Randall Made knives. I carried a Randall 18 through out my Career in the Military. My work horse Spyderco was always a Manix 2, and a Caly 3. I had just gotten a Para military when I got injured, and I suspose that it would have seen it's fair share of duty. Maybe someday I will be able to get another.
As far as a fixed blade. I would never carry anything other than a Randall 18 Attack/ survival. :)

Spyderco khukuri! Ive been carrying this knife five months now as an EDC knife and used it a lot. This knife can force cut because of it's forward blade design. I used it in the kitchen, used it for opening packages and envelopes , slached some plastic/carton for fun, etc.
Ive dropped it on his tip and it was a little damaged, but after resharpening everything was repaired. I opened and closed the blade maybe a couple of thousand times and it has still zero blade play. I has been in contact with a lot of water and no rust problems showed up yet.
I removed the clip, because i didn't like the clip.
If spyderco made a sprint of the khukri in damascus vg10 or some other special kind of steel that would be cool.
