I have an MSc and PhD in chemistry. I'm assistant professor at a Hungarian university. In approx. 30 % of my work time I do teaching (chemical engineering and materials science related courses) and in the rest I'm involved in contractual R&D work for the money and for fundamental research for the fun.

You forgot :vampyrewolf wrote:Job 1 40hrs/week: I *am* the warranty dept for waverider, units come in from world wide and all go through my hands. 900mhz wireless internet, both indoor and outdoor (25mile line of sight, 8 mile non). Officially I'm a "Warranty Repair Technician" at a major OEM for telecomm equipment on the distribution end.
Job 2 20-30hr/week: I *am* the IT dept for a courier company with 30 staff members and a total of 7 systems. I do everything for them, from building, maintaining, cleaning, backing up (on and off-site), and working on getting a web page going for em. Have 1 backup tower off-site ready to plug in, fully configured and updated.
Job 3 10-15hrs/week: Private / on-call IT work, currently 8 ppl using me (2 of which run a business from home), and likely just set myself up with another business today. Maintenance and cleaning on systems from 95 to vista. I've got parts to rebuild 5-6 systems and 4 working complete towers with xp pro installed sitting in the basement (updated and ready to run).
As you can tell, I spend a lot of time working with computers. About 1/2 my book collection is computer related. Jobs 2 & 3 get the income cycled back into computer parts and books. In the process of building 2 more systems for myself, just waiting on the motherboards to come in... and picked up another old tower to rebuild today.
Job 4 2-5hrs/week: Posting on :spyder: forum.... :D

I've been working at scrap yard in baltimore for about 3 years now, running equipment for the last 2 1/2 or so. I run hydraulic cranes. We have 11 cranes in the yard with attachments varying- grapple, shear, or magnet. I primarily run one of our magnet cranes- a 2007 Liebherr 934 that we got about 6 months ago. The thing is nice-it's like a 80,000 pound cadillac (or i guess a BWM or mercedes being that it's a european company.)
The sick thing is the ammount of fuel that it uses- on average I go through 65-70 gallons of diesel a day, and I have one of our more efficient machines.

What is your profession??? Great Question!
I loved reading all the previous posts. Happy at work makes the best job!
I am a Radiology Project Manager that sets up Mammography Centers and I also teach about breast cancer. And personally, a cancer survivor. (that is almost a full time job, in itself!)
Love the Spyderco's. :spyder: ...it's totally different in this world (Spydieland), then my daily world.
I've been lobbying for a pink spyderhawk for years...but am so excited to see the PINK NATIVE announced!!! Slow and steady, will win the RACE against Cancer!
Thanks to you all for such a wonderful distraction and hobby.
Hugs and Health,
Ms. Delica :p
