Its an amazing knife. And left handed ones would have indeed bin awesome!
But the knife has 1 drawback. The 10V is the most dificult steel i own to this day to sharpen. It really is a pain in the ... :rofl

10V just that hard of metal or what's the issue with it to sharpen? I don't have anything with it. Once you get the 10V sharp does it hold the edge well?

The K2’s 10V is extremely hard. My diamond stones have no problem sharpening my 15V’s or any other of the steels i have but the time needed to sharpen the K2 is almost double. :no-mouth

Apollo,

I just got a Mule in that is from M398 steel, you have any of that to compare your 10V to? This M398 is some really hard steel, as it has proven to be quite timely for my diamond stones to hone a 15 dps bevel on lol.
I don't mind this just as long as the knife holds the edge well. I would say my M398 is right there with my REX121 in how hard the metal is or at least how long it takes to hone a edge on.

Your 10V sounds really interesting to me, I like all the harder steels. Your not going to hone a new edge profile on one quickly lol.

Once you get both sides even and the angle of the profile you like on them, I don't expect to have nearly as much time in keeping the knife sharp though.

At the moment i do not have anything in M398. But was there not a reason Sal mentioned they would not use it anymore or something? :thinking

About the 10V you are correct. Ones you have a good edge is not to difficult to keep it that way with regular maintenance. Sadly my K2 was very unevenly sharpened from the factory so it was like i said a nightmare to change.
I must say i do not use my K2 allot as its just to massive to take with me in my pocket. People would faint if i would use it in public. :rofl

I like those kind of responses when I draw my knife out lol. Now I didn't know that Sal had said they would not use it anymore. That is saying something there lol.

I know why, jimo; it's a beast to sharpen when you have a long way to go like mine did lol. It was like yours one side had a pretty decent 17 degree bevel, the other side was like 35 degrees.

It was horrible to get even and close to 15 dps, now it's not perfect but it's way better than it was from the box, and it's a Razor sharp knife.

This being a Mule I am alright with the bevels off and just in general roughed out. I kind of expected even worse than these two Mules I just recently picked up and put scales and a Sheath with them. Look at these like a knife DIY kit...

Now if this had been a folding knife that is finished like yours, the bevel on each side needs to be better jimo. I do know things can happen and very well versed on how easy things like that can sneak out lol...it can be quite challenging to clean up and make square and plumb with how we want things lol.

I am so looking forward to getting the LW scales in a few weeks. If they are as good as i hope it might make me love the LW Manix finally… :grin-sweat

Thx Jeb!

The spydie in question is the current LiL Temperance 3. Bought it last week when it finally dropped in price. ( Have the old golden made originals aswel ) Its one of my favorite designs. Its kinda a smaller Manix with a compression lock. Really love this one. Thinking of getting the K390 version aswel.
