For over a year I've been saying the same thing......

That when these come out we're going to near a lot more folks posting the Millie 2 than the OG, despite the doomsayers. Just like we did when the Para 2 launched.

So far, it looks like that's the case.

Holding out for the DLC version myself, but I'm enjoying seeing the photos everyone is posting. Looks sleek!

How are the ergonomics compared to the PM2?

It looks great I'm just kind of bummed that it uses the flared lanyard tube as a structural piece instead of another screw. It never seems to be the same after you take it apart that first time for cleaning.

Hopefully AWT will make some scales like the manix ones that add the additional screw at the butt end.

As much as I love the original Military, I could see myself liking the Military 2 even more. But since I'm not buying anymore knives at all for the foreseeable future, I could wait for a Salt version for if/when I ever buy a knife or knives again. I have no problem with S30V, but I already have a lot of knives in that, and I'd like to try new things in the future..

To me it feels very, very similar.

(above edited because like a dumbass, I compared it to the previous Millie)

I don't normally do this, but I went ahead and ordered two Military 2s whilst they were initially trickling out to the market. I received the both of them yesterday.

What I received were two stunning examples of the quality that Golden can produce and offer to the market. Everything that one could realistically and objectively critique is nonexistent. I think the wait time in offering the best that they could before hitting shelves shines higher than most any other model that I can think of off the top of my head. Bravo, Golden. Thanx much for your efforts.

Man, what a great knife…I feel like a bit of a fanboy doofus posting two glowing reviews back to back (the other being the cruwear stretch 2xl) but it is what it is, man…

As expected, it’s a definite hybrid between the PM2 and the original Millie, feelwise…maybe 70/30 in favor of the Millie? I think the main contributor on the PM2 side is the slightly enlarged choil. The compression lock has never really been an ergonomic factor in my hand so that’s more of an operational thing as far as I’m concerned. In my pocket, it’s essentially identical to the original Millie.

It retains that “large in hand”, blade forward orientation of the original Millie which I’m REALLY happy about. I was hoping that would remain since it’s my biggest association with the model. One *improvement* I’ve noticed is that the rear, behind-the-pivot lock face doesn’t protrude quite as dramatically as the original when opening. Anyone who owns a Millie has probably noticed that the lock face protrudes on deployment. It’s still there on the 2 but it’s nowhere near as noticeable.

Overall, great early impressions. Hoping to see this in 52100 or cruwear in the future 👍
Crucarta: Shaman (x2), Manix 2, Lil Native, Delica (x2), GB2, Para 3, PM2 and Millie 2
Notable: 52100 and Cruwear Millie. “15v-arta” Shaman. REC Manix. K-carta Endura, P4, Dragonfly and Delica.
Favorites: Shaman, all things Sage, Sheeps Caribbean, Manix, Endela and all things Stretch

Great review, Manifest!

I can’t wait for the Crucarta.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Great review, Manifest!

I can’t wait for the Crucarta.

I seem to recall that the Millie 2 has "full" nested liners (like in there is liners beneath the scales all the way) as opposed to the just partial liner of the Millie 1 - still almost can´t imagine though how this can be, given that the Millie 2 is even a hair lighter than the Millie 1, despite there should be more metal in the "2"s handle - ?!

Anyone who already has a "2" can talk about its liner-situation?

Anyway - should the Millie 2 also "just" feature partial liners, a Crucarta version would have to be noticeable heavier, since - like on the PM2 - Spyderco most likely would give that one (non nested) liners all the way.
Not a con necessarily of course, just speculating here.
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

That might be the case, but I hope it doesn’t delay production. Alternatively, they might use slightly thicker scales to achieve the same result?

In either case, I’d be happy with just about any tool steel and some aftermarket RGT scales I think.

Can anyone post a picture of just how skelonitized the liners are? Just a peak under the hood please. From one model to the next the cutouts in the liners seem to have different patterns. Just curious how far they went with the M2.
