Re: landscape photos!
Since it’s been horrifically hot and humid here in Texas, here’s a pic from Lake Tahoe in winter 2022.

Cherohala Skyway from Tellico Plains, Tennessee to Robbinsville, North Carolina

Cityscape!
Look closely. That little dark blob poking through the clouds is Downtown Los Angeles. You can spot the Wilshire Grand, the tallest building west of Chicago, at 1,099 feet. Santa Catalina Island is on the horizon, about 65 miles away.

Re: landscape photos!
Thanks. I'll have to make it down there some day.
Re: landscape photos!
Indeed, you do.
It's a great place for anyone interested in science, engineering, nature, or history. The regular season is from May to October. Here's another landscape photo. The 60" telescope on the right was the largest in the world from 1908 to 1917. The 100" on the left was the largest in the world from 1917 until 1947, when Hale's 200" telescope atop Mt. Palomar was completed. As you might imagine, there's plenty of hiking in these mountains, as well.

The mornings are starting to get c-c-c-cold.
Winter is nigh.
Time to break out the long pants and long sleeves.
