I read this thread on BF and at least one "flipper" give reasonable explanation why he sold his para right away. I have a friend. At one time he had over 100 spydercos. His favorites always were Miliys and paras. A little over a year ago the company he is working for lost a lot of business. Many people were laid-off. He fortunately has a job, but he went from 50/58 hour a week to 40. During the year I saw him selling a lot of his knives. But he was waiting for green Para, saying that he deserve a treat: he didn't buy a knife for very long time. About four weeks ago he hurt his knee and could barely walk. He needed to stay home, but just couldn't afford. Things get worse and he couldn't work. His company doesn't have any paid sick days. Short term disability insurance doesn't cover the first week and after that 50%. He is home for three weeks already. He was one of the first, who sold his para on BF.

Thank you. A good subject helps make good pictures. For whatever reason, my phone takes better shots than my SLR. Maybe not with focus, but definitely with lighting.

ive had some success doing this, try using the flash, but put a tissue on top of it so the flash has to go through the tissue first.

Its a beautiful knife, and I'm totally pissed that I was "off the grid" when the preorders came available. I missed out on a PM2 in a great steel and my favorite color …
But there is no way I'm gonna pay $300 for it - "increased value" due to limited availability is vapor. I have 2 other PM2's, and they work just fine.
Maybe when things settle out I'll get a shot at one for a reasonable price ... and maybe not …

Received mine today, after two springs. Long wait, but first impressions are great, perfect finish, a very nice green. Steel feels like a Rolex, side by side with other knives :D
I also often complained for the wait, but we all love happy endings, and this is a stunning one.

I agree. Intrinsic value doesn't magically increase when an item is in limited supply. It is only the perceived value which increases and that's quite intangible to me. Additionally, there is no knife that I "must" have at elevated price points. I'll spend my money on one that might be 10 percent less of a performer and do without the hollow feeling in my stomach. I might also spend the same amount on a knife that the manufacturer sells for the same amount than an inflated one. :D

I believe that was the point I was trying to make. But apart from arguing symantics, I thought I would celebrate the first time, and probably the last, that we see eye to eye on this thread. I never thought I would see the day.

Yep, because that's the way forums go these days. Right at the start, the battle lines are drawn. Then the salvos start, lasting for several pages. Then it ends in a stalemate with both sides not giving an inch, right back where they started.
All I'm proposing is that we each give our opinion on the matter without the debate between sides because no one's gonna convince any one on the opposite side anyway. Less heartache that way and less work for Taz. :D
Some of us expressed our opinions on some secondary market practices, others came in with an opposite view to ours. There were a few back and forths but all in all, this was a pretty good thread, IMHO that is. :D

The knives are orientated differently on the scanner bed in the two images. One's rotated 90 degrees from the others so the lighting angle is different. The different lighting illuminates the blade markings as you see there.
