Another great job, the PM2 LW in 15V definitely caught my eye. It's also nice to see more REX-121, I guess Sal bought everything they had before it was too late.

Hi WilliamMunny,

Actually, it was Eric that had the foresight to buy everything before it was too late.

Nice reveal. I’ve got my eye on a few. Haven’t tried the CTS BD1N steel as of yet but I’m going to soon. Definitely going to get a charisma.

The PM2 LW is going to make a great work knife. Love it. The Para 3 LW was one of my least favorite models, until I got one. Now it has become one of the best (other than centering, lol) and has aged really well. Huge bang for the buck here.

I love the charisma - I hope it doesn't feel like a victorinox paring knife for $90+ though
I haven't handled a Charisma, but my immediate thought by looking at it was a folding Victorinox paring knife. Can anyone who has held both tell us their thought?

Cool reveal, especially that Damasteel Chaparral. It is insane to see that we are pushing small Sebenza prices nowadays, but it was inevitable...

The FRN PM2's are not my jam at all, but they are more affordable and they'll certainly be a hit.

Nothing for me this time.

I am very very interested to see a PM2 lightweight taken apart.
One washer or two or even none?
One liner or two or none other than the locking leaf?
I wonder if it has two washers and two shorter liners kinda like a Military 1?
I´d assume it will not have two (shorter) liners, but be built as lightweight as possible and pretty similar to the Para 3...

Weight comparisons could potentially offer a super-unscientific estimation:

- The G10 Para 3 weighs 96g / 3.4 oz, the G10 PM2 108g / 3.8 oz, that´s a weight increase of about 12 %
- The Para 3 LW weighs 68g / 2.4 oz, the PM2 LW 78 g / 2.8 oz, weight increase here about 15 % so not that much more than it is with the G10 models.

This might suggest that also the LW Para 3 and LW PM2 are constructed pretty similarly, and not that the latter features substantially more metal liner(s)... ? Just a guess...

That serrated PM2 LW will be my next knife. Hopefully serrated magnacut PM2 LW in yellow will be upon us eventually. Black blade, yellow handle, serrated.

Just an all around winner. Seeing a handful of models from the case at BLADE show is a fun surprise.

The PM2 LW is going to be a massive hit. It is already seeing a sprint run!

We finally got the Charisma and in four colors to boot. :star-struck

Love seeing more Ed Schempp designs coming out! The Retract was in the case at BLADE show too. Super comfortable in hand, definitely a must have.

THREE new Lil Natives!!! :party-face

The coated Meerkat looks really cool. Kind of surprised to see that one.

That Damasteel Chaparral is a beautiful piece.

And lastly the new merch looks great! I'll be buying at least two of each hat... One for the whole thing and one just for the patch. :rofl

_______

I noticed the blade shape on the Chaparral Rex121 is different. It has the same blade profile as the Slip-it Chaparral. The Damasteel Chaparral still has the traditional Chaparral blade shape though. I haven't used the new blade shape in the slip-it yet but based on aesthetics alone, I prefer the original blade shape.

Edit - Thought I just had an epiphany moment... :exploding-head but I immediately proved myself wrong.

I thought maybe they're using a different blade profile on the Chaparral variants that have taken a step beyond the original intention of the Chaparral series, showcasing handle materials. For example the Slip-it uses a different lock and Rex 121 is a different steel, so they get the subtly differentiating blade shape. But then right next to it is the Damasteel Chaparral with the traditional blade shape, so I don't know if I was on to anything or not. :thinking
they look the same to me :nerd
The difference is subtle but there is a difference. The traditional Chaparral blade shape has more of a "bullnose" than shown on the Rex 121 version. The Rex 121 model has a more acute leaf shaped blade, omitting that "bullnose" shape.

The G-10 UKPK Salt and 15v lightweight lil Native garnered my attention.

@Mushroom the blade shape on the chaparral might just be photoshop at this point.
I checked the slip-it Chaparral at the SFO in November and it was like that in person too. It actually seemed easier to spot the difference in person than in photos.
This new blade shape is more refined IMO. It’s more in line with the Caly family. I hope it’s going to replace the old “bullnose” blade in all variants from now on. I never understood that spine drop on the old style blade. It looked so … unnatural

I think I'm most excited about the Charisma and Retract. The Retract looks like the Schemp Kukhri that has always been a grail for me. And who can argue with a 0.8oz 3inch blade on the Charisma. Super impressed!

BD1N is a great steel IMO. It doesn't hold an edge crazy long but it's super easy to sharpen and maintain.

I really liked it on my Manix 2 LW!
For me eally good "ease of sharpening / edge retention - ratio" indeed! (Exactly as you say: Not because of amazing edge holding, but because it was so extremely quick and easy to touch up on the sharpmaker. Even more so than VG10 in my experience).

Disappointed in no reverse S SE Meerkat, but I’m all in on the Charisma!

I’ve been waiting for the Charisma as it seems it is in a category all its own. I can’t wait to get my hands on one.

PM2 LW out the gate with the options, thank you!

Chaparral G10, how did it take this long lol? That price though... Hopefully we see a LW FRN REX121 to match like the Sage?
Yes. The price. I saw this, Chaparral G-10 with Rex 121, and I thought this would be excellent! But for $480? I have no choice but to pass. My LW with FRN and XHP works just fine.
