I think if you deploy the blade hard enough it would register on a shot timer. I won't lie I've never timed myself and drawing the knife quickly isn't what I would probably do. I do walk around most days with my hand in my pocket or my thumb in my pocket. This sets my hand up on the knife most times. I just don't see a quick knife draw as something that will help me. Knives are used close up and I think if I'm drawing the knife defensively it's probably in a clinch. Definitely want to be sure I have a firm and intentional opening.

Again I would suggest maybe getting a shot timer and see if it registers the click of the blade opening. Then you can set a delay and see how fast you are to an outside stimulus.
