Nice. I really like the Hera II. Bigger is better, y'know.

The problem I previously mentioned with my new Ultratech has been resolved. I sent it back. They sent me a replacement, and it's been working fine. I enjoy carrying and using it.

Custom leather sheath that allows me to carry the Dacian deeper in the pocket/waistband. Turned out absolutely lovely, silky smooth on the outside yet with good retention on the outside, plus it smells like Heaven (I'm a junkie for the smell of leather and new books).

I personally prefer to run them almost bone-dry, with just teeny tiny droplets from time to time in the essential areas only (blade & button tracks). When I do, I use the oil that's coming with Heretic OTFs but any light oil will do. You might also want to have some white lithium grease (to dampen spring sing) and some compressed air. Reusing this photo to show everything mentioned.

State of the collection

(sorry for the crappy indoor lighting, the day started off sunny and nice but got hazy and cloudy while I've been pulling everything out of storage :winking-tongue )

Ultratechs (mostly Gen 2s, plus 1 ZPB and one DLC Makora) (left side of pic badly out of focus, sorry again :sleeping )
Image

My main area of interest over the last 4 years or so. Have been fixated on getting variations of blade shapes (blade finish counting as variation) while having no two handles exactly alike. Been getting my kicks out of rotating & using different blade shapes all the while gripping comfortably the same handle contour. It's getting a bit hard to rotate them now, almost as with this next bunch.

Millies (and some Paras)
Image

Been collecting/using them since 2007. My favorite Spyderco model. If you happen to spot a couple of M2s in there, they are not quite bad and I can use them in a pinch, but I don't want to. :smiling-halo

Salts (mostly volcano grips)
Image

Not pictured in the bunch are a serrated Snap-it that's somewhere in a BoB, and a Stretch XL (my only H2 knife) that's sitting in my car.

Miscellaneous OTFs (mostly Microtechs)
Image

Not pictured in the bunch there's an Ultem-top DLC Combat Troodon that I've forgot to take out of the box for the pic, and a tan Mini Hera that I've forgot to take out of pocket ;) . Manticore fam next to Hera fam, love 'em both.

Miscellaneous (mostly Spydercos)
Image

Not pictured in the bunch my backup Watu & Ikuchi, a T-Mag, Kapara and a couple of Ladybugs/Jesters.

And recycling some older pics for Vics (the Swiss Champ on the very left is my first 'serious' knife, has been a gift from my parents sometime in '91 or '92 and I've kept it pristine).

Would a quality made OTF spring driven knife with corrosion resistant parts be good for diving and fishing or not?

Yep. When it comes to fishing and diving simpler is better. You have to worry about salt water, sand, fish guts, etc..all stuff that would quickly foul up an OTF.

Technically you could use one (Microtech makes models that are able to fire underwater and have extra NiB coating that might come in handy for lowering friction and potentially improving corrosion resistance) but why would you? I fully agree with the sentiment above, simpler is better around water.
