“Manix mania”



Where to start.

When i was 15 i fell in love with the Manix design.
Now almost 20 years later i already own 24 of them in all generations and variations , sprints and non sprints , lock backs and CBBL’s.
And i love each and every one of them. Sadly its for me not possible to put them all in one picture so i picked out my 10, G10 Manix 2’s instead.

Almost every single day of the year i carry and use one of them.
They always give me joy and pride when i am working with or taking pictures off them.
Every single one has a story behind them , some are gifts of my amazing loved ones , some i bought from friends , some mark milestones in my life and others are linked to incredibly lucky and beautiful days when i found one unexpectedly in a shop while on a holiday trip.

To fill in the picture i used memorabilia i have found over the years and also from my trips to the Amsterdam meet. My nr 1 day of the year! (Thank you Spyderco!!!)
I have bin lucky enough to go multiple times already.
This past event i met our amazingly talented Forum member and friend Robin there for the first time. And he gave me not only the cool French Patch in top of the picture but he also made me the wonderful custom scales you see on the 15v.

To cut things short i am Dimi and i am a Manix addict!

Robin is an amazing person and he is extremely talented.
I hope we both are able to etend again next year. I would love to talk to him again in real life. He also kinda gives me vibes to start and make my own scales someday.

Great photos so far, everyone!

This photo was taken in Vogel State Park during a family camping trip. The Kapara handled food prep for the weekend. I love the sculpted carbon fiber handles and the overall lines, especially how narrow it carries in-pocket.

I entered a photo and uploaded to the WeTransfer link but I inadvertently read the guidelines for last year's contest. So my entry was horizontal and NOT landscape. Is there a way to retract my entry and submit a new one? Also, how do I attach an image to this forum?

This I my entry this year of the Manix 2 Crucarta , which has become a huge favorite . Shot was taken in the fork of a dead Ash tree with help of my youngest granddaughter. Hello and thank you for the opportunity to post for the 2025 Forum Calendar Contest.

My family and I visit the Oregon Coast every year, and I have been waiting for a long time to carry a Paramilitary that can be used in the ocean and this year I was able to make it happen.

This particular knife is of special significance to me since my son studies at Colorado School of Mines and the Magnacut steel was formulated by a fellow CSM graduate - Dr Larrin Thomas.

The Paramilitary 2 has a very generous handle size, the compression lock is secure and easy to operate, and the blade size is about perfect for an EDC.

Thank you Spyderco for always innovating and for supporting materials science and design.

Welcome to our forum. Your final entry is what is posted in this thread, so we'll just disregard the file you sent first through WeTransfer (it would be disqualified anyway). Please submit the proper file through WeTransfer and post it in this thread. When you post here, be sure to select the "Full Editor and Preview" option in the post dialogue box (it's a button at the bottom). Then scroll down a bit, and you'll see the option for "Attachments." Click "Attachments" to upload your file, and then select "Place inline" once you've uploaded your file. There are some tips and information here about using other sites to post images as an alternative.

I'm not seeing any daylight at all...just like the bottomers, who were the mine workers employed at the lowest level of the mines back in the day. During my 12 years while on duty I was assaulted multiple times, contracted MRSA and got severely sick. By the end of each shift I often feel like I'm coming back to life...to the surface. This Pacifc salt 2 in H1 was my first entry into the world of spyderco. I live on the ocean, and make my living being on the water everyday, so i needed a knife that would never let me down. Years later and its still as trusty as ever I took this shot because the lighthouse is the most recognizable symbol of my home, and my home is the reason i needed a salt knife to begin with.

Model: Stretch 2 XL Lightweight Salt (C258YL)

Usually, my carry for this time of year, AKA Summer in the North East, means time in the local wilderness, and hot, humid weather. The salt series is the natural choice.

This year I picked the Stretch 2 XL salt. An evolution of the early Hunter/Pro-Venator models designed by Sal, the Stretch series, which has seen numerous iterations and sprints, was expanded into the XL variation. When it came out, and I saw the blade length to weight ratio, I knew I had to have one, but held off, hoping Spyderco would release a much more "interesting" version outside of the original, base, VG-10 model. The Salt variant scratched that itch, due to its ease of maintenance, corrosion resistance, weight, and ergonomics, and is a great companion for outdoor adventures big and small.

This photo was taken on a day hike my partner and I took this past week to Waconah Falls National Park, which is a hop, skip, and a jump from my house in Western Massachusetts.

I was pretty excited to see that the prize this year is a dragonfly! I love the spydiechef obviously but my most carried knife is a dragonfly of some kind. They are perfect for cutting tags of kid's clothes and opening envelopes and packages and just being useful while fitting in women's pockets or my fanny bag. Since I almost always have a dragonfly with me I have a fair number of pictures of it. I really like this one because of the evergreen needles giving the picture texture and also complimenting the red color of the handle. I was having a tough day and taking this walk through trees gave me some needed peace. It is a happy memory.
