Got mine north of the border, was always on the fence about getting a Shaman because it looked way too bulky and thick but this colour and steel combo made my decision easy this time. Was super stiff out of the box, but after 4 days of flipping it's definitely broken in now. And there's definitely the nub, but a few days of muscle memory practice and I already have the timing right when closing already.

The contoured scales are incredible and fills the hand so nicely, makes the Manix and PM2 feel incredibly boxy in comparison, I think I know why it's always like $40-50 more expensive than both of those now.

Man, what a great color. Enjoy those knives, folks!
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I think I will trade scales with my M4 so I get a dark green and all black knife for my abuse Shaman. My Rex45 will stay the same for EDC and this one with the micarta scales from the M4 will be my dress/light use Shaman

What is a "light use" Shaman? :winking-tongue

But seriously, that is such a great looking knife. Of the recent exclusives, this was the one that most drew my attention. Mostly to maintain my KW Exclusive collection (minus the P3), which I really enjoy. But I've been trying to get less duplicates of existing patterns, so this was a pass for me. Hope everyone enjoys theirs!

I've been using this for a month straight now, kicked the TRM atom out of my pocket. I'm surprised at how much I like it, the contoured scales are sooo much better than the boxy scales of the PM2, and the less pronounced hump right before the finger choil makes it way better for me than the Manix which sticks out too much for my liking.

My only knock is the scales have basically no grippiness to them compared to a PM2 or Manix or Para 3, feels like what I imagined the "smooth G10" on the Knifecenter exclusive models to be, which I never had. Does the standard S30V Shaman have grippier texture on the scales or is this just an effect of the contouring of the G10?

I don't own a Shaman but I do believe all G-10 Shamans are smooth compared to the PM2/PM3/Manix etc.

The finish of all of the Shamans with G10 scales is much smoother that the G10 on Para 2 and Para 3. I find it on the slippery side and prefer the Micarta scaled versions (not the Burlap version which is the slickest of all). However my favorite scales are aftermarket skinny versions in Micarta

Can someone help me identify if this is a crack or something else ? I found this exclusive that I would like to buy to have my first Shaman. But the guy selling was kind enough to tell me there was a crack due to a fall and it just seems weird.
If this is indeed a crack I don't think I should buy it. However, if this is just a cosmetic issue, I don't care at all :open-grin

Thanks in advance !

Eesh, that kinda looks like a crack. I had a Military crack under the opening hole, but I've never seen one at the top.

Thanks for the feedback Jeff. I think I'll pass on this one. Too bad I never tried 204P or a Shaman ^^.

It's a weird crack IMHO, must've been there already to then be enlarged by a fall

Such a precise and perfect crack, very strange. Though that is a really thick part of the blade, I'd still be a little skeptical as well. I bet it wouldn't be an issue, but it's a flaw you would notice every time you hold or use the knife.

I agree with Rick. Even if these straight lines are just cosmetic (perhaps because the blade was not fully seated before the grinding robot began its jimping work), QA should have put the knife in the seconds pile.

If it's a real crack, it should go back to Spyderco. That shouldn't happen from a "fall".
