Just a few thoughts from the sideline on this model. I had ordered one and received it the other day. Upon opening the package I was very impressed with the knife fit, finish, and feel. Let me state first that this is a model that I like a lot. I had several Manix knives in my collection, but they were all FRN models. While handling this knife I realized it felt like a completely different knife than the FRN models. It is so solid and substantial. Do not get me wrong I like FRN very much, but this knife is just in a different class.
Thank you, this made my day :party-face

Wish everyone else could see that so the G10/liners don't get pushed to the wayside!
I all for G10 and liners.
me too... just waiting for the right exclusive or stock at sfo. both seem to be more difficult than you'd think.

Another G-10 fan. Prefer it on all models, but especially on the Manix. I’ll go as far as noting that I’m not planning on getting any more Manix FRN models. And I like the Manix. And I ‘only’ have two.

I do have the smooth G-10 Native, which works well for it. But I felt it wouldn’t be the best match for the Manix, so I skipped it.

I definitely prefer G-10. Even over CF and Titanium. I like FRN, CF, and Ti. And it's nice to have variety and 'special' knives. But 4 out 5 times I'd pick G-10 if given the choice.

On Seki models where it causes a significant price increase, the issue becomes the steel. I usually won't spend that much on a VG-10 knife. If it's K390 I have no problem spending $200+ dollars on G-10 from Seki. Some color helps too, although as in the case with this Manix, the all black was very desirable.

Very nice, Chuck! I’m glad to see you got one. I respect the hard-use that you put some of your knives through and I’m looking forward to hearing how the Cruwear does with some of your cutting tasks.
Thank You Sir!!

Stay tuned....in the next few days I will be putting this one in my pocket for an extended period of time. I do like using a titanium ball cage but except for the pocket clip, I'm leaving this one stock.

Let's see what it's made of!!! LOL!!!!!!!!! ;)

me too... just waiting for the right exclusive or stock at sfo. both seem to be more difficult than you'd think.
I think you missed out on a very good knife this go around.

Hope you get the one you're looking for, they're definitely very good knives to have and use. :cheap-sunglasses

I would not be surprised if CS came out with another exclusive Manix 2 . They have been riding the PM2 bandwagon and seems like they could be due for a new take on the Manix 2 G10 . DLT may may pull one out sometime this year . I’m still wanting a G10 XL so feel your pain in some ways . Dan

I second this! This looks like a home run combination for the Manix. Combo that with Chuck's usage. Let's see what it can do Chuck.

I bought this exclusive Manix2 specifically to be customized with titanium scales. But after receiving the knife I like the smooth G10 scales so much that I am keeping this one factory original. Now I have to hunt down another Manix2 for the new scales.

Got mine in the mail yesterday; tried it out on some cardboard boxes at work. Mmm, me likey.

I'm not a fan of Spyderco's typical peel ply G-10 texture, especially on a new knife that hasn't been worn in it; as expected based on experiences with other brands, the smooth stuff is so much nicer. Next best thing to micarta.

It's worth the effort to swap scales if you really don't care for the smooth G10. Here is one of their uncoated Cruwear sprints with a new coat.

I'm not usually a fan of colored hardware and cages, but that's a nice looking Manix right there!

Anybody interested in swapping scales...extremely easy on a G10 Manix!! Lanyard tube is no issue, unlike a Para 3 or PM2.

good to know. I've dealt with the para3 lanyard tubes on 2 different knives.
