So correct me if I’m wrong but this will be the first Spyderco flipper without ball bearings?
You are wrong. The Ouroboros has washers (which is also Paul's design).
It's not a flipper

Yeah, the Ouroboros isn’t a flipper...so that makes me correct? :D
It does! That tells you how close I've paid attention to the Ouroboros...

My preferred online dealer is expecting these in march. Is This true or are they guessing again?

Eric said in one of the IWA videos that it is already shipping to overseas dealers & distributors. From what I understand, they have a new policy of shipping to them first.

That’s what he also said today in Amsterdam. The Ikuchi was also there, very nice knife. There was also one given to the guy that came the furthest away, this time somebody from the States

Bummer !

Since Paul Has disassembled his production sample, I’m pretty sure it's washers. If I were Eric, traveling all over to shows, I think I'd have a hard time talking about, and keeping straight, every detail, of every model, all the time.
Especially with all the tweaks going on throughout the preproduction process. I know I'd have difficulty keeping the details straight.

Here’s a pic since no one wants to take my word for it. ;)

But in all seriousness, I think Brian is spot on as far as Eric’s comments... lots of models, lots of constructions, lots of details, and lots of interviews. It’s no wonder that a thing or two may get misscommunicated.

This pretty much echoes what’s been shared with me... the Ikuchi should land some time this month!

The suspense is killing me!

Thanks for the pictures Paul, I love the simplicity of this knife.

Really looking forward to this one. Flipper on washers, plus the compression lock and unique low profile flipper wheel, I'm thinking this should be a great little classy carry.

I like it. In fact, I really like how innovative Paul's designs are.

A couple of videos of CC #d Ikuchis have popped up on Facebook. Hopefully won't be much longer before dealers have them :)

I was about to say.... and never mind sold out. Glad all these new models are popular. We'll see more sprints and exclusives.

Do we think this one is going to follow in the Kapara / Smock model and be tough to catch on initial release? I'm getting that feeling and agree it's a great thing long term for the models and potential sprints if a bit trying for my patience aka my worst virtue...

I really wish Spyderco would ramp up their initial production numbers. Having the entire stock of a new knife sell out in a matter of minutes, then waiting six months for the second run to hit shelves is very frustrating.

I realize they do this to minimize their risk because a model may not sell well and they don't want a lot of stock sitting around, but what new model has come out recently (last two years) and didn't almost instantly sell-out?

[Note: notice I said NEW model and not a refresh of an older model]
