Sal mentioned earlier in the thread they are stashed away for next years sale. I had always been curious about this as well. That suspicion was confirmed when I ran across a few boxes filled exclusively of black Native 3 LWs that I am guessing have seen a number of second sales.

Sal posted earlier about this. All knives left over, are used in the next years “Factory Second Sale”

And, if I'm remembering correctly, Spyderco also did a police/first responder/firefighter seconds sale earlier this year, which I imagine sold leftovers from the 2017 Factory Seconds Sale as well.

They also sold seconds at the some of the trade shows

I got to meet Ed Schempp and he signed my knife! The SFO sale was awesome and the Spyderco crew were fantastic. They brought hot coffee to us in line, gave out prizes and were friendly polite and helpful. If you can ever go, do!
