Haven't lied about anything. And I've never "started in on you." I said i didn't particularly like Hinderer knives in a thread about Hinderer knives. You got upset. Then you posted 4 or 5 threads about Hinderer knives. I posted in two threads where you're actively promoting other companies on a Spyderco forum and said that you should be ashamed of that type of shilling on this forum. I even reported my own post to Kristi to get her thoughts. She said she's okay with it so i let it go. You just went off the deep end and went full bladeforums troll calling me a liar, etc., even with nothing that says I'm lying.

Now with all of the negative comments and even outright threats i could react in kind, but i won't. This forum is far better than that type of stuff. Having said that, i hope you find some peace. When you first got upset about everything i definitely didn't mean to inflame your sensitivity. I just wanted to discuss pros and cons of a company in a thread about that company. It's already gone too far and we've both been dicks. Let's both stop.

For posterity, if Kristi wants to see a copy of my dd214, a picture of my badge and creds, list of certifications and duties, and an official copy of a lot of my seizures, i can send it to her so she can dispel the accusations of me being a liar. Shouldn't need to do that but i guess certain people find what i say to be unbelievable.

And to be fair, on bf i tried my best to keep my job out of it so i listed certain things I've done in certain environments both here and abroad. Some people, without as much as a pm asking me to clarify, started sounding off that i was lying about everything. Based on what, i don't really know. That's on them. But i haven't lied and have tried my best to fend off those accusations as civilly as possible, both here and there.

And as far as why i was banned there, it was because I would counter opinions in threads that were obviously only hype, i wouldn't back away from trolls, and i argued offline with moderators and told them they actively encouraged a negative environment there and were probably trolls themselves. I was temporarily banned here because after Kristi told me to stop picking on Ankerson's views on steel, i did it again and even provoked Kristi by saying to ban me because i couldn't just sit there letting his claims go on and people believe it like it's gospel. So Kristi banned me for about a week. I apologized and haven't touched the ankerson issue since.

That's the full rundown. Take it or leave it.

Hmmm, is this a true story or one of your tales of the same material, which earned you heaps of scorn and got you booted from BF?

How was it again - you claimed to have 'had a 1000 persons in your telescopic sight in the desert.'

Heavy hints at being an operator on deployment.

When pressed, turned out you never been to any desert abroad but meant the border between the US and Mexico and that you were a Walter Mitty type customs inspector checking for kontrabande on cargo ships with a flashlight.

For the record, Ive been deployed 'to the desert' several times over and Im not talking about the US-Mexican border.

This is a great forum and the tolerance here is to be commended but it also means certain types have (almost) free reign. Amongst them a few BF rejects.
Amen.
And it is amazing how powerful of an effect the environment has on someone, even in a virtual place like a forum. Sure, we have multiple contributors on here who have been banned from BF. I can think of a couple who are active contributors who carry themselves in a positive and respectful manner on here and who offer valuable contributions. BF has a sometimes antagonistic group on there and a couple of those members who got banned were unable to resist being pulled into the fray. I have only seen one of those banned members act the same way here. Guess who?

Anyway, lets continue to set the tone of the forum by behaving the way we want others to behave and not antagonizing difficult members. The ignore function works well. ;)
Yes, somebody who has previously been a member of another forum can contribute in a positive and respectful manner else where.

Only one banned member guilty of stolen valor and of consistently badmouthing and posting derogatory comments about Spyderco on another forum (...and often ending negative post with nauseatingly backhanded compliments to Sal and Eric themselves) is a member here. Guess who.

Since we can't quite seem to stay on topic or steer clear of unnecessary drama, thread closed.

We can all have opinions but you know what they say about opinions. Unless someone has actual proof of an offense there should be no accusations made against anyone.

This is the Spyderco forum. We're different and that is what sets us apart. I don't base my decisions here on things that happen on a different forum. Please stop trying to use something elsewhere against anyone here. It's irrelevant.
