Like David mentioned, I think the 52100's are still available for pre-order, but I wouldn't wait too much longer to place a pre-order for this one. (Apparently, there is quite a demand for these. It sounds like they will sell pretty quickly once they hit the shelves).
P.S. Congrats on the new job! :)
Thank you Michael. I am the director of Metrology at a local gage lab. Now I have access to CMMs, hardness testers and lots of other high tech toys.
Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun. And they actually pay you to use these new toys, eh? :D Do you have access to a Rockwell scale by chance? If so, I may be sending some of my blades to you. :D
I do have access to a hardness tester. I'll feel out how they feel about personal use.

It's nice to see you back on the forum again, Landon. It's always good to get input from our long-time, more experienced members.

As for the 52100 Millie, I can't really afford it now, but I have a birthday coming up next month. Also I've been looking for a 52100 mule for ages, and a folding pocketable one will be much better. So I can subtract about $100 that I would have spent on the mule

That reminds me, Sal has a birthday coming up a few days after mine, so he's getting to cut his sushi with an early present. A well deserved perk!

I actually kept away from the board because I was getting so annoyed with the wait for this knife. I have two coming. One to keep in the states, and one to keep in Europe (I live in both the US and Greece). I do not have much experience with this steel, but if it lives up to what they say….it will replace my S30Vs.

My EDC is a Walter Brend Marauder….if not, I switch it up with a Millie or a Sebenza. I always carry my custom karambit with a wave, but this will probably be my primary regular EDC knife in rotation with my Marauder/Sebenza. From time to time, I will carry a Moon or a Shiro. My backup is always a PM2 that fits in my front right coin pocket in my jeans that has been "Lynched" and can hardly see the black clip. ;)

They took down the "April" part of the estimated time on the KC site….now it says just "May" I believe. lol The wait continues. GRRRRR….

You must have the deepest coin pockets ever sewn onto a pair of pants. Hope you never lose a dime way down at the bottom of it! :p

All my jeans are from Duluth Trading. They have the deepest and widest pockets than ANY other pair of jeans. I can front pocket carry a Glock 27 with a Pierce +2 extension. They have 13" deep pockets….not sure how deep the coin pocket is, but the PM2 fits in there WITH the Lynch clip. And the jeans come with a lifetime warranty. Any issues, send em back for a replacement or a refund. Actually had a 5 page thread about this on some board. They really do have the best jeans on the market….especially the firehose line. Check them out! Combine those jeans with a good gun belt, you can carry most anything without any worries. I wear a full size 1911 with 2 mags, 3 knives, 2 flashlights, keys, phone, pen, 2 wallets (one with badge), as well as my Leatherman Wave…..and have plenty of room for more. Much more. The 1911 is on my belt, and sometime the G27 in my front pocket. Without Duluth jeans….no way I could carry all that gear.

My work pants have huge watch pockets. I can fit a Military in mine along with a Para2. However, I find it uncomfortable as the pocket is high on the pants and the knife digs into my hip/belt when I sit down unless it is a deep carry clip. A Sage rides very well in it. It has been a dedicated Zippo pocket for a while now however.

My firehose jeans have the coin pocket inside the main pocket, the regular ones have them separate. But…with the firehose line, I can front pocket carry a full size 1911 and a Millie!! Not that I would front pocket a full size 1911, but I could if I wanted to. I have carried a full size P220 in there before, but I usually front pocket carry a G27 in an Alabama holster. The PM2 rides below it in the coin pocket. To show you how deep and wide the pockets are…take a look. That's a full size 5" Wilson Combat 1911 there with a 4" Millie (unLynched)….

If you don't see it, it's probably because of your browser and/or tablet. Their website doesn't like my phone either. I've tried two different browsers on my phone and can't even get logged in.

Has any other retailers opened preorder for this Military?

Many of the knifecenter preorders are in my mind a bit outrageous, on knives that haven't even been announced...

When I called Knife Center they said Spyderco told them June/July so I guess we're getting close-ish. I do hope it's at least in June.
