Already have so many different steels that a new revamped feeling Para 2 was a much better surprise to me and waiting so long for my CTS 204P to come I was already a bit upset on the steel end of things.

I would be in even if its 440c. Anything less than s110v would be bitter sweet though. :)

I wonder if another dealer or the same dealer can do an exclusive with a different type of Carbon Fiber and S90V.

Please, no more KW exclusives. I hate that they will only ship EMS to international buyers. :(

Yeah I'm still going to buy a DLC Para 2 just because it's all black...but if I could get 20CP under that DLC, I would be in EDC heaven.

I guess the biggest steel whore is Sal himself, that's why we are getting these. :)

If S35VN is anywhere near S30V, it's no slouch. :D

See, this is where I must lack the collector's mentality. If I were to own one of every Para 2 sprint, I would probably narrow it down to two versions that I use and the rest would stay in the boxes. I would find the one that held an edge longest for the uses that I need a knife for, and then the S30V DLC version. The other steels to me are just varying degrees of ease of sharpening vs. edge retention, and these days I have the sufficient sharpening equipment that pretty much any steel that Spyderco puts out I have confidence that I can get sharpened with very little effort, so the easy to sharpen steels are becoming less and less valuable to me. If anything I wouldn't mind seeing another steel that's geared towards all out toughness, like 3V or something, but then I don't really feel that a steel like that has a place in a platform like the Para 2, because the knife is definitely geared more towards slicing use as opposed to the kinds of hard use that a high toughness steel like 3V would really shine at.

I do believe that tougher steels can be of benefit in slicing knife kind of applications. I have a couple of knives in 52100 and the toughness just works for me in their taking and holding(for a reasonable amount of time anyway) a fine edge that I find is not comparable to the high wear resistant steels. I also like the edge that superblue takes in my caly and the 3v that's in one other knife I have. For sure they won't hold their edge cutting cardboard or rope, in the same way as the high wear resistant steels.

I subscribe mostly to all good just different, just don't give me 8Cr13Mov. That one just doesn't work for me. :D

Someone will snap it up. Doncha worry.

Maybe Spyderco should print money and make an additional run of this at $500 each. :D

By definition, that doesn't happen with sprints...but maybe they should do a new series of knives, sort of like the Sage, where they donate a portion of the proceeds to treating insanity or compulsive buying disorders? $825 is...beyond imagination, really.

There seem to be a lot of folks in this game with a whole lot of dollars and not a lick of sense.

I am wondering if anyone here bought it, and if they did, whether they'd admit to paying that much for the knife??? :)

There is a PM2 CF listed on Ebay today for the low, low price of only $825 BUY IT NOW!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spyderco-Parami ... 257f0059a2

Hey, Sal, at these prices, I bet you could do another sprint run of 500 for $500 each and make a cool quarter million - nice summer bonus.

I'm sorry but for $900 I'd buy a S110V Strider first. I don't think I could bring myself to pay more than $300 for any Para 2 regardless of what steel it has.

That said, I'm in no hurry to spend $900 on any Strider either.
