hey guys,
i fell in love with the leafstorm the first time i handled one.
it fits my hand perfectly and is a fantastic slicer due to the hollow grind.
the natural g10 scale is my favorite color, and this is my first titanium framelock.
what makes it special, is that it was my fathers day gift from my wife of 23 years, my son, and his girlfriend.

model: c128gp leafstorm

1.Please include a 2-5 sentence (max) description of your image - why you chose the product(s) featured, the history of the image, etc.; something to give us a better understanding of your submission.

One of the MANY things about Spyderco that amazes me, is the way they listen to their consumers, coupled with providing something for everyone. This becomes readily apparent with one of their historical, tried and true folders; the Spyderco Delica. I fell in love with their great edc capabilities [light, comfortable, great steel, smooth and easy operation], and having almost all sorts of colors and types under the sun. Allowing for a knife for any day of the week to fit your mood! And the end product was my inspiration for this picture. If you don't get the image of the sun, then I hope it at least invoked a sense of love!

2) Image must include a Spyderco product(s)
3) You must include the model name of the product(s):

SPYDERCO DELICA4 BLACK BLADE ~ C11BBK
SPYDERCO DELICA4 FLAT GROUND FRN ~ C11F - Blue
SPYDERCO DELICA4 FLAT GROUND FRN ~ C11F - Purple
SPYDERCO DELICA4 FLAT GROUND FRN ~ C11F - Pink
SPYDERCO DELICA 4 WHITE FRN ~ C11WH
SPYDERCO DELICA 3 STAINLESS STEEL ~ C11SS3
SPYDERCO DELICA CARBON FIBER LEFT HAND ~ C11LCFP
SPYDERCO DELICA DAMASCUS SPRINT ~ C11JBBP
Non-Delica But close enough for me:
SPYDERCO SALT I YELLOW FRN ~ C88YL

This is the coolest blade I own IMO. I love the lock, the scale color, and the size/ergonomics.
I wanted to present it in a more "What exactly is going on here?" light.

I have got a 10 MP camera and the rules state the following...

Final Printed Image Guidelines (ABSOLUTE MINIMUM – Images should be no smaller than this):
Width: 3450 px
Height: 2700 px
Resolution: 300
(This translates to 11.5” x 9” to account for a ¼ inch bleed)
Image must be available in high resolution at 300dpi at end of contest.

I can manage a picture that is 3888 x 2592...does that mean that I cannot take part?

Spyderco knife: Spyderco Temperance 2 FB05P2 ... and a Spyderco Black Military Cap

Sal sent me these two items of beauty...

A Temperance 2, and a Spyderco military cap...

I wear the cap when walking the 2 klicks to work, and back home again...and the Temperance 2 is my wilderness EDC, along with one of my own blades...

To be sure...to be sure...

I decided to focus my entry on Spyderco's incredible ability to cut. We are all familiar and fond the good old paper cut test, so my shot depicts a "dream paper cut test" with lacerated paper flying out back in fear of the irresistible power of the Caly 3.5. Anyway hope you like it, thanks for the great opportunity, and good luck to all the submitters!

The following is NOT my submission, I just wanted to show you all how ridiculous the setup for this shot got. Please let me know if showing this in my submission post is not allowed and I will delete it.

That is a very cool shot of a Spyderco doing what they do best! Also, nice to see "behind the curtain". Thanks for sharing!

Okay, I am a little confused about the photo contest and would like someone to help me out. I have a photo but don't want to post until I know the answer. The directions say that they do not want any copyrighted material in the photo we don't own, but they said they want the spyderco name in the photo, or at least it sounds that way. Should I put the Spyderco name in my photo or just leave it with the knife?

This is my Spyderco Delica 4. I have a minor in art and I love photography. I used the white photo board as a back drop to enhance the handle of the knife and to create an interesting diagonal line across the photo. The shadow can lead your eye to the knife or vice versa. The knife is also on the rule of thirds to create a more interesting composition.

Good luck everyone!

FWIW, the Spyderco name is not copyrighted, it's a trademark and the contest rules specifically allow the use of Spyderco trademarks, although they prohibit using trademarks belonging to anyone else. I'd be inclined to think that using Spyderco copyrighted material, say for example using the cover of the 2010 catalog as a background for a Manix 2, might be acceptable. Think you also misread the rules a bit. They want you to post the MODEL NAME and your user name in the body of your post along with your photo.

Hey, guys, here's my submission. It's a photo of the PPT that I've been carrying on a weekend outing with some friends. It was a fun evening and one of them was cool enough to lend me their camera so I got a couple of shots on this. I do love wharncliffes!

Thanks to the :spyder: Crew for doing a calender again this year.

I decided to shoot the Salt-1 which is my beater edc since here in Hawaii we are often close to the ocean and have decent humidity. I decided to give it a ffg which I did by hand on some waterstones. The photo was taken down at Anaehoomalu Bay (A-Bay) where I often go after work to take shots of the sunset.Took this shot this evening, the vog (Volcanic Smog) creates some colorful sunsets, the knife is propped on a piece of coral.

You guys, these photos are great! Keep em coming. :)

You can use anything that Spyderco owns as far as copyrights and trademarks go. (We own BaliYo and Sage Marine, but it might not be the best strategy to feature them in your image for a knife image contest).

Posting the "behind the scenes" image is fine as it's pretty obvious what image you are entering.

Just about any digital camera is capable of taking photos that will meet the resolution requirements, so don't let that stop you from entering! :D

Man, I don't know how they're gonna pick winners from all these great photos! Outstanding work by everyone! I could take any of these pictures and give a rational, coherent argument why it's the best of the lot.
