That's right, knife or firearm on person are useless without brain, heart and will to use them when situation calls. Trained and prepared person driven by justice can beat any statistics, odds, and sometimes laws of physics. :)Blerv wrote:Agreed Doc! Crazy but another moral decision panning out. Don't mess with human spirit driven by justice and armed with a big knife.

Im not familiar with hong, but i like how sun style flows and follows thru with the techniques. Sun lutang was one of the best martial artists of the century for sure. Ive studied alot of his teachings regarding xingyi.

Hong Cha, (Hong Chia), Style is a 5 Animal Style, Sometimes known as Old Hung Kuen, or Village Style, a mixture of Northern and Southern Techniques.
I never did study any xingyi cept for the influence of it in Sun style. My teacher studied with Sun Shu Rong, (Sun Lu Tang's Grand-Daughter)...It is an amazing style of Tai Chi and Sun Lu Tang was a Martial Genius.....Doc :D

My EDC is not a Spyderco, but a Tarani Masters Model Karambit, made by Blade-tech. (This was before the 5.11 era.) I regularly tote a Spyderco Civilian as a hide-out back-up when at work. If I want to add an extra knife, for special occasions, that would be a Spyderco Ronin, a truly superb weapon.
I have larger blades, but I don't see blades as primary weapons, unless civilization fails and no ammo is available. Plus, I can legally carry handguns more places than I can carry serious blades. I reckon my most-carried "SDC" would be a Ruger SP101, followed by a SIG P229, the latter being my personally-owned duty pistol.

Civilians, Dodo, Guntings, Mili, P'kal, Rescues, Ronins, Temperance, others...
