Wow! You're up early, Sal! Glad to see the bead project is progressing. I'll probably have to spring for a couple, whatever you make them out of, just to have!

How much heavier would a pewter one be compared to FRN? Also, price difference? If the pewter ones are more than $300.00 each I would only buy 2 or 3. :( :D

Any idea as to the size.
IMHO smaller is much more classy and will fit with most every knife.
Maybe 5/16 to 3/8 in width and 1/2 in tall.

I was thinking of this thread a few days ago. I'm sure we'll know when they're done when they tell us :)

I would buy some pewter spydie-beads :D Even though I still have about 19 unused pewter skull beads that I bought for paracord weaving. Great idea.

i would pretty much buy anything that has the spyderco logo cause i love my spydies. pewter or frn i don't care, i'll buy both. i also dig the spyderco key chain logo that someone mentioned earlier. as far as them holes that are punched out, stamp them and make them little challenge coins, that would be awesome!!
love them spydies!

Cool, thanks, Sal!

Beyond your Beta pewter version, perhaps consider stonewashed steel, blackened pewter, maybe even bronze - finishes to complement the spydies they will adorn. Metal for sure, as I would think the weight is more desirable …

While you're at the drawing board, maybe play around with a spiderweb design that wraps around the lanyard, like a tube bead … ?

Who knows, with all the interest this thread has generated, maybe a whole family of "bug beads" could develop …

Thanks again for cutting us in on the consultation, Sal.

I've actually been looking at some paracord options for some of my knives and a Spyderco fob would be great.

Fantastic, Sal! I'm a big fan of Peter Atwood's lanslides - and would love to add a Spyderco-themed bead to several of my lanyards. I'm in for a handful of them!

I'd buy them. I wish Spyderco made a challenge coin too.

I still want to buy a whole bunch of these beads. Was there a new thread? Did I miss something? I hope not.

There are some pictures from the Amsterdam show thread of the beads. IIRC, they had a pewter, white (plastic? FRN?) and clear beads.
