I have two the cf military in bg-42 or the full sized Persian. My collection tends to change as I buy and sell knives but these 2 will always be in it. The military because it is the knife I was caring when I first met my wife and the Persian because it is an amazing knife with great ergos.

I have a Victorinox Soldier that I would never get rid of. I carried it everywhere I may have to fly on a plane, so it's been on some wild adventures. I also carried it during my years in the oil patch. It's a little beatup, but it still works like new.

I do not have an ultimate most valued knife. However, here are some cherished ones:

- From the knives that I received when my Father passed away suddenly: His first knife that he bought for himself, a Kabar Upswept hunter that I had refurbished for him a few years before he passed away. Then the Caly Jr w/ ZDP-189 and burgandy FRN that I had gifted to him.

- Knives received as gifts: From Spyderco it would include two FRN Native C41's with engraving and a Micro Diad Jigged bone that was engraved with my eldest son's name and birth date. From Cody and Kristen it would be an CF Walker in ATS-34. From Joel it would be a handmade knife from Bulgaria. From Sascha it would be a the Cold Steel Black Bear.

- Knives I acquired my self - Spyderco Centofante Vesuvius (now it has been reground by Tom Krein), Tom Krein TK-4 with Bowie blade shape, Bob Dozier Parking lot knife in D2 and Desert Ironwood, William Henry B-15 Quest and John Guyer EDC (my first custom).

Sorry I could not narrow it down to one.

Only One!?

Post by ghostrider »

Sorry,

But to limit my "Prized Knife" to only one just isn't enough (especially on this forum).

Not in any paticular order (because They are all special).

Blue Yojimbo (gift from Dr. Snubnose)
Subcom F (gift from DAYWALKER)
Trance (sent from Boker)
Pelican CE & Raven
(prizes awarded by Spyderco for my submission of the byrd slogan contest)
Crossbill PE
(I've since gotten a lighter G-10 version, but this first one was used by Dr. Snubnose in one of his famous "Meat Tests". Hasn't been used or sharpened since, and probably never will now.)
Lava Forum Knife
USN Forum Waved Endura

I'm sure there are others, but that's just off the top of my head.
First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Victorinox Soldier (silver alox), until it got stolen out of my car. I am waiting for a replacement order.

Looks like they have discontinued making them as of 2009.

Mine would be a jap sword brought home by my dad at the end of WWII. i would sneak into his closet to look at it as a kid. He has passed away 6 years now and it hangs proudly in my bedroom.

So many knives, so little time...

Post by pjohnson67 »

It's tough to pick favorites, I try to limit my collection (right now about 50 or so) to just the ones I love and sell the others to someone else who might love them more. I really, really love my Kris, Ti ATR, Klotzli CF Walker, SzaboFly, Blue G-10 Native, Jig Bone Jess Horn, Barong, Rock Salt, Big Persian, Ti Herbst, AUS-8 PS Zowada (like butter), Ayoob, and my PS Shabaria. At least those are among the models that grace my old Spyderco 4-side display case. Lesser models are banished to the newer cases. I'm sure I left a few out. The only non-Spyderco knife I would include is the Beretta, Seki City produced, Stealth with a composite blade of CF & VG-10, sharp as a scalpel. Very cool knife, why doesn't Spyderco produce a variation? I'm not sure who designed it, although it does have a makers mark on the back. I'll put up a photo. Does anyone know of another knife that uses a composite blade of CF and a steel alloy sandwiched together?

I guess I am feeling a little Pedestrian and Contrarian to this thread with a CS Talwar. AFA SpyderCos, My first VG 10 Spyerfly will always top that list. But it only gets use at home.
