I guess I carry one all the time, I keep a LM Squirt E4 (as well as a County Comm pry bar) in my little pouch of "just in case" gear. If I have a larger bag with me, I usually also have a Victorinox Climber Deluxe in there, which has many of the same tools but is a little bit sturdier. If I'm carrying a big bag/backpack, I'm likely to have my original LM SuperTool. So it may be tiny or it may be large, but I almost always have one somewhere within reach. Honestly though, I rarely use them; I do precious little that requires more than just my knife.

I would say yes and no it really depends on your preference i like to have a knife on me (spyderco Only)THG wrote:I've been pondering the idea of getting the TTi with the S30V blade and replacing my dedicated knife altogether. Is the blade on the TTi good enough to do that? (My assumption is automatically "no," but I've gotta ask...)
What do and don't you like about it?

Rotated on left hip:
LM Core
LM Surge
LM Charge
SpydeRench (2nd gen)
Always have a LM Squirt EL on my right hip. Always have a flashlight on my left hip too.
Swisstech 4-1 screwz-all on my ID for work.
Have a Juice S2 in my drawer at work
Have a vnox cybertool 29 by my chair at home
Folks only look at me odd until I'm doing something for them and need my tools.

Why do people worry more if you argue with your voices than if you just talk with them? What about if you lose those arguements?
Slowly going crazy at work... they found a way to make the voices work too.

I'm a huge multitool fan. My favourite so far is the SwissTool Spirit with the additional ratchet and corkscrew. It's got all the tools I need. If I'm only carrying one item, that's the ST Spirit.
I also use a Leatherman Charge Tti quite often, I like it but I really have no need for a one hand opening S30V blade on my multitool. I don't think I've ever relied on a multitool as my main knife, and I often carry them in my backpack so super-quick blade opening is not an important feature. It's also missing an awl, which I use a lot.
I've recently added a Leatherman Juice CS4 to my multitool collection and like it a lot. I pocket carry it when I'm not carrying my backpack and don't want a bulky tool on my belt (not a fan of belt sheaths).
SAKs are an addiction of mine, I always have one on me. I tend to go for the medium sized models like the Electrician Plus, Farmer, Hunstman or Tinker. They offer a good size to tool ratio and can handle most of my daily needs.

I always carry a SAK, plus a one-handed locking folder. I use the toothpick the most often on my Tinker, but the screwdrivers also get a lot of use, more than the blades. The big blade is reserved for food use, as I have the other folder for general severing duty. Victorinox makes very useful tools for an amazing low price. I've carried one since I was 13, and sharpened my own since then, too.
I also have a Wave in the car or backpack. Too heavy for EDC.

Call me the odd one out, but I use this SAK (forget model name) as my multi-tool.

It's got great pliers, screwdrivers, blades, awl. More useful for everyday fixing, but less robust for sure. I just don't like the size and weight of multi tools. That said, I do want to add one to my collection soon. Waiting for the new Leatherman gun-cleaning multi tool to come out.
