yeah i saw that, hes the first one to post it. still think this knife is going to be alot cooler in hand than what the pictures show us.

did you pick one up Deacon? i bet you did even with all the dislikes you have on it.

i wish i could have bought more but i only got one and one is better than none for me since im not selling the one i have.

edit: does anyone know if the anodized titanium is easily worn off ? it seems like in some pictures that the blue is almost scratched or worn off.

God I wish they did a blue anodized titanium frame lock with the damascus now that would be amazing and quite beautiful. Or [well this would be less pretty] but a blue carbon fiber handle with the damascus blade, although i prefer framelocks.

Nope, I passed on it.

As for the bolsters, all I can tell you is that when I was ordering my One Eyed Jack from A. T. Barr and told him I intended to carry it loose in my pocket, he recommended against anodizing the bolsters because it would wear off around the edges and scratch. I took his advice.

It stands to reason really - any coating is liable to scratch - even tough ones - if you can put it on then it can be taken off. If you don't like the signs of wear like scratches or marks then don't buy anodized things or black-coated blades :) It's a rule of thumb that's worked for me over the years too :D

On the subject of the anniversary Delica though, I doubt that these knives were designed for hard use ... nice as they might be, they are a limited edition, collector's drawer-queen if ever I saw one ;)
My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)

As I started this thread in March, I felt obligated to post a couple photos.

Like I said, looks like a mess Image Glad you're enjoying it, though.

Anyone have an explanation for why the vg-10 core is so thick? Seems to me the blade would look better if the core wasn't so thick and the Damascus layers went all the way to the edge of the blade.

I just held this knife this afternoon. It's fit and finish seemed excelent. However I was unable to pull the trigger. So besides the 230$ what really held me off was The deployment was stiff just not smooth. Do you think maybe pivot screw was possibly to tight or is the delica normaly like that; or perhaps this line is supose to be that way?. Any insight would be great. Thx in advance

Am I the only one who thinks they should have gone with all dark screws, as the ones used on the Ti bolster would have blended in much better with the dark blue scales than the bright silver screws?

I photoshopped one of Riot's pictures from another thread to see what it would look like. While I like the darker screws used on the bolster, I wondered what it would look like if they were attached the same way as the persian's (using no external pins/screws), so I 'shopped that change in as well. I don't necessarily like it better without the bolster screws, but the darker screws on the bone certainly look better IMO. But you can be the judge.

P.S. Hey Spyderco, you looking for anyone to refine the aesthetics of your knives? ;)

P.P.S. I don't dislike this knife, as it has slowly grown on me enough to put my name on a standby list if any more come in. I just like playing around with photoshop to explore "what if?" scenarios.

I received mine yesterday, it is gorgeous in the hand.

If I was to change anything it would be to add a radius to the joint between the bolster and the scales, like the 25 year anniversary knife.

Hmm.... I agree with that. Also, the 25th anniversary Delica doesn't look half bad.
