As I sit here in my new office on my first day of work I have absolutely no doubt that I am where I belong. I am thrilled to be a member of the Spyderco family and look forward to applying my skills to support the continued success of the most innovative knife company in the industry.
I will definitely be an active participant in the Spyderco forums and welcome your thoughts, suggestions, and feedback.
Good things really do come to those who wait. And my wait is finally over.
Stay safe,
Mike
How awesome for you to partake in our little neck of the woods (forumes).
If I may ask, have you considered proposing the Jani-song to the Spyderco team? It seems like such a neat and innovative knife, not to mention tons safer than a traditional bali.
It's my grail knife, but as it stands, it's hard to come by.

"May the Force be with you and the "Yo" be with us!" Who could ask for more than that! Thanks for the kind wishes!
"If I may ask, have you considered proposing the Jani-song to the Spyderco team? It seems like such a neat and innovative knife, not to mention tons safer than a traditional bali." You've been reading my mind--an impressive feat, given the small size of the print...
Stay safe,
Mike

I hope you know what this means. I (as well as the other Jani-song fans) will now hold you accountable.
I hope it ends up hitting full production status one day and not just a "sprint" run. People end up missing out on sprint runs, which is no fun.
I look forward to what you bring to the :spyder: team.

Hello, to all and Mike. I think the world is ready to
embrace another Yo type model. The cat is somewhat out of the bag on this design. Folks would have to beat the Doc with the moving truck heading to Spyderco! :D

Great news to hear. Welcome Michael.
I do believe the the Yo will be making a comeback. I was given a sign. The day after I first saw this thread I received and packed out a thousand piece order of the movie "Yojimbo" on DVD at work. I've worked the same place thirteen years and had not ever run that product before. It is a sign I tell you.
Now I'll have to rent the movie. After checking Wikipedia I know what a ronin and yojimbo are as well as what a Ronin and Yojimbo are.
Way cool.

quick question for Mr. Janich do you feel a wharncliffe blade profile is better for self defense than say a leaf or drop point i've noticed your past knives all used wharncliffes just curious i purchased a swick recently and the angle on the blade just makes it so natural for regular grip and karambit grip but the wharncliffe seems to RIP and tear better than other blades tested this on free falling jeans VICIOUS just wondering
