a little while ago I got a small Damascus knife in a trade from an unknown knife maker, I proceeded to miss handle it actually rubbing off the Damascus patina it was a cobble Damascus. I posted a thread on another website, in the process of this thread. The designer Daniel Koster offered to re-acid etch the blade and add his makers Mark free so at this point his knife is my favorite.non-spyderco and possibly favored overall because of what it represents about the bond between fellow knife nuts in these forums in general.

My Small Sebbie. But, I have some knives that I have purchased directly from the maker, and they are very special to me. And getting a knife that one of my favorite makers no longer makes, is very special to me.
