My first spydie was a frn lady bug with partial serrations. I've broken off the tip (I don't recall what stupid deed I attempted to do that) and retired it. It is just too small a knife to have any real benefit to partial serrations. If it was plain edge or all serrated, it might still be used.

Spydie #2 is a original version Terzuola jr w/black aluminum handles and partial serration. This is also retired due to the partially serrated blade. (Do you see a theme here?).

Spydie #3 is an original version Viele. This is such a slick knife that I have considered picking up one of the newer VG10 models. This is my dress knife for those special occasions.

From there it is the typical story of a classic knife addiction.

Economy Standard, got around 84. Still carry it almost every day or trade off with a Byrd Cara Cara. I like the flat compactness of the all stainless models.

My first Spydie was an AGR Jess Horn in white micarta. I bought a maroon
one next, just in case the white got lost. (They were the first flat grinds that struck my fancy.) I was bitten and infected by then but didn't know it. Next I starting buying the different types of locks: compression, phantom, liner....just to have an example of each. Then more flat grinds came out. I have 28 in my display cabinet, three on order, two more on Ebay bid, and one that I'm thinking about, but have not made a decision on. Does this ever end???

My first was the Spyker, I now have a jester, a Native and a delica with more on the way. Why did no one warn me about the addiction?

My first was a Native II. It remains as one of my favorites.

My first :spyder: was a CE Delica followed closely with a SS Police PE. Haven't look back since. Most of my other productions except a select few have been given away or sold for Spydies. Great thread!!!

My first was a SE Endura, G2 steel, with the FRN clip. I bought it at the BX in Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC, way back in 1992-93. I still carry it to this day, and the funny thing is, it still cuts!! That G2 steel works. I thought for sure when all the fancy steels came along, the G2 would quite cutting, but so far it still does a great job of "slicing&dicing". Who knew?? :)

That proves once again that you can't beat a Spydie

My first Spyderco was a Co-Pilot that I purchased through a magazine ad back about 1987 because it looked really unusual and tough. I carried it on the job, IWB, weak side, until I retired. You can't imagine the rough use it saw. Still have it today. :D

Almost a PE. The serrations don't have those nice little points to them anymore. :) I want to send it in and get a factory resharpen, but I can't part with it long enough to send it in. :) The clip did break off about 5 years into its service, so I made a kydex pouch for it. I have wrapped a bandana around the kydex and carry it in the same place as when it had a clip. Right rear pocket.

I can't imagine how long my Chinook II is going to last(or the new Endura 4). A SE FRN Endura has lasted 13 years(and still going), a overbuilt tank of a knife Chinook should last about 80 years, I imagine. :D I am thinking about an Endura 4 to replace my Endura. But I doubt I will quit carrying my Endura. I don't know. Maybe. Maybe when it has seen 20 years of work, I retire it then. No telling.
