I also was looking for this and finally found it. I saw Tommy live this last Wednesday in Edmonton (May 21), and the concert was so good it was literally life changing (Two of my younger cousins agree, and also both of my younger sisters that each have degrees from Rice University in Vocal Performance (One is doing her Masters currently in Indiana)). He makes guys like Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page look like tone deaf toddlers playing out of tune Ukuleles (Not quite but almost). He played two sets and before he was halfway through the first one I was utterly convinced that he is the best guitar player in the world currently, and by the end of the second I left the auditorium thinking that he might very well be the most talented musician on this whole planet. I'd need to get a Ph.D in literature just to have even the most remote chance of explaining how amazing he is to see live. If he's playing near you...GO SEE HIM LIVE if you can get tickets before the sell out. I can't stress that enough...words can't do it justice.

Been a fan since they first put out a single. I used to play bass and always loved the sound when played through a distortion pedal.

It's great, relentless just pulls you in. Weren't they getting back together, or are back together?

Pretty sure they're together and doing randoms hows, not sure if they're making new music. I'm following them on FB, they don't update very often.

Can't wait for this album. There really isn't another band out there like Mastodon.

What do you call that, country hip hop? Or do you take the C from country and add it to RAP and call it CRAP? ;)

Really though, today's country is essentially pop with a few twangy guitars and a "country singer voice", so it's not a very far stretch to bridge the gap. You can go to any country town and find rednecks who listen to hip hop, so really it's a surprise to me that it's taken this long to hear something that blends the two. I imagine there's probably a ridiculous amount of money to be made there and I bet it'll get mainstream very soon.

Yeah probably (And I've seen it called "hick-hop"). Pop country also sucks, but there is some real country still...you just have to look a little harder than before. It's one of the reasons I listen to so much Corb Lund...it's proper country music.
