Happy Friday. It’s got a bit of heft but the Scorpius has become one of my favorites since I found it among the old stock of a local hardware store.

It took some work, but I finally got the edge the way I wanted it. Now I really like this knife!
IMG_1642.jpeg
What did you do to the edge? I really like it too. It's on my short list of favorites.
The original bevel was close to 30 degrees (!) which I just couldn’t get a nice edge on. I used a protractor and jacked up the Sharpmaker until I got 26 degrees. That was better, but I wasn’t happy. Sooo, I adjusted the angle to 23 degrees and spent the day grinding away!

When I got to 23 degrees ( checking with a Sharpie) I used the white rods to hone the edge. Now it shaves receipt paper.

I’m sure that 20 degrees would be EVEN better, but I don’t have the patience for that!!

I think that my knife might be a bit of an outlier, maybe a new guy was grinding it??🤪

Overall I really like it! The handle is super comfortable and I really like the compression lock!

Thanks. I'm glad you fixed it for yourself because it really is a great knife.

kinda funny...the police 3 was both the first and the last knife I bought from new graham. I believe this one was $127 and change. The most I had spent on a knife at that point.

I finally got my Native 5 with full steel liners and S35VN. I had been looking for one because I love the look of the back lock with the steel liners. They're surprisingly hard to find these days.

This thing looks amazing. The stonewashed blade finish is great too. I wish Spyderco did more of that. And it feels great in hand, especially when using the forward choil. It feels very substantial and solid. And the wide flat spine of the handle feels good on the palm.

The action on this knife is much stiffer than any other Spyderco that I have. But the lock-up is bank vault tight. This thing has absolutely no lock rock or lateral play. You also have to depress the back lock button all the way down before the blade will release. This feels like a heavy duty knife and it inspires confidence in use.
